Can we get some Vampire - Melee not mage love?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:50 am

I think I remember Melee based toons doing better as Vamps in Morrowind/Oblivion. I never did a full Vamp all the way through so I could be wrong.

But when I looked into being a Vamp in Skyrim, I don't really do much magic outside of self healing and enchanting. Illusion looks cool but I never got any invisible or chameleon spells, which are what I would use in thief mode.

What say yee

The vampires were supposed to embody the magical aspect and werewolves are focused on melee.

Yeah but the idea of smelling like a wet dog and having my junk exposed wasn't very appealing to me.

In Oblivion vamps were just better versions of every kind of class who just HAPPENED to be vamps, while in skyrim vamps are mages

The whole myth of vampire was based and originated from Count Dracul and Count Dracula. The Dragon Knights. And they were definetly melee fighters.

When you "supposed to" you mean according to who/what?

I remember MW/OBL Vamps getting more physical perks.

Note, I'm on the PS3 so I'm a gimped gimpy gimp who can't use mods according to the internet ;) I want some official patch Love.

I've never watched Twighlight, as I'm a grown a** man.

That may be true for real life, but that's not how Vampires came about on Nirn

Indeed, it seems many fans forget that this is NOT Earth.

Well, Stoker's Dracula (and all the modern derivatives) is just one of many vampire myths. It's the only one that Hollywood knows though, so there ya go :teehee:

Does it really matter in this thread? Nowhere in lore is it said that vampirism shouldn't enhance physical capabilities. The Quarra clan are warriors, and vampires in Daggerfall gained strictly physical advantages - increased running, jumping, hand-to-hand. Magical powers are given to vampires because magic is so common in Tamriel, and vampirism itself was created by a god-like being, but there's no reason not to include a slightly different vampiric clan that would rely more on their bodies than on minds.

In morrowind, there were three types of vamps - one for melee, one for magic, one for steath.

The way I saw it, that's the Warrior, Mage, and Thief. So what's the Werewolf? The assissin, more or less.

This game just does away with the factions, throws wolfness as a mandatory part of the warrior's game, and vamps get... absolutely nothing. No quests... seriously? There were three whole questlines in morrowind... I want that back. :x

If you're talking about the Ordo Draconis (a knight order founded in 1408 by King Zsigmond of Hungary, that still exists today), then you're a bit off. 1. They obviously fought with melee because magic is not real. 2. This was a knight order in name, more of an honor title reserved for very high ranking nobles so not much fighting was done in the first place. Also, the Dracula myth was based not off them but solely off our dear despot Vlad Tepes, the Wallachian Prince. What's more he wasn't a member, only his father was.

The Skyrim devs of course. ;)
