I have been following the Quest Creation Tutorial on the Creation kit Wiki. I have made the entire quest, however, when testing with SQV (Show quest variables) I realize that the quest does not work. The beginning dialouge with Olo succeeds in setting the Quest Stage to 10. However, neither of the scripts for the bandit (or Dirty Theif), or the amulet appear to work. I followed the tutorial exactly. Also (since I have some experience with programming) have tried a few other things. I can't figure out what's wrong. When I kill the theif, the stage remains at 10 (instead of going to 20 as it is supposed to), and when I loot the Amulet, same thing. Anyone know what's wrong. I can post my scripts, but I assure you they match the tutorial.

Alot of people are having problems right now with the CK it seems, most probably them and not the CK.
I'm one of those people having problems (mostly crashes). But hey it's still new .

What was the stumbling block? If it's something that's unclear in the tutorial, that's something we can fix.

Mind if I hijack this thread with a similar question? For some reason when I get to the dialogue part right before "Linking Dialogue" in the tutorial, the topic doesn't appear in the orange square box but Bendu's answer is there. I must be blind because I can't see anything I did wrong but maybe did.

There is a dashed line around the dialog you can hover over it and drag it to make it bigger so the text will show.

Apparently I did everything right. It appears that sometimes either a)The creation Kit has problems saving changes to a Mod, or The game doesn't load the most recent version of the mod. I'm not sure which of these three steps did the trick, but when I get it to work I did three things:

Made sure the active file was saved (obviously), second, I closed the creation kit. Third: On the skyrim launch menu, I unchecked the mod and hit OK with only Skyrim.esm selected, and then went back and selected my Mod also (my thought was that it forces the game to retrieve the version of the Plugin on the HDD/
