Hey guys, been a member here for a year or 2, but don't make threads often, so work with me. Was just wanting to ask the most awesome game dev/gun nut in the world if we could get the Judge Taurus .45/410 in a dlc? Some people might not know of this gun, I'm no gun expert, I just know a gun that looks good to shoot when I see it, saw this sweet revolver on tv a while ago. Eh, a 410 isn't the first thing i'd reach for against a human target, let alone an armored one. Should be handy against snakes though, judging by your link.

OTOH, It does fire the .45 cartridge from a Colt as well. It might be cool to see implemented. Like its been stated, Gunny may know more.

Fot those who don't know what this gun is it is basically a revolver that is extended to fit both a 410 shotgun shell or a. 45. Personally it doesn't make much sense to have one with the lack of 410 shells so you would just have a large. 45 revolver.

I saw a Judge in action last week; it's a great weapon but I'm not sure sure it really fills a niche in Fallout (plus, I'm not crazy about real world weapons in the game, anyway). I'm told I'll get to try it in a couple weeks, after the newness wears off.
Side note: I was shooting a 9mm and a .410 shotty and am happy to report I still sort of have it. Da zombies (and watermelons) better watch out.

Most reports on the .410 is that they don't have enough penatration to be useful, a big part of why the judge hasn't taken off, the shot pattern is also pretty bad its like a doughnut with a hole in the middle of the shot pattern. Its a cool concept just doesn't work well from most reports.

It'd be an interesting gun to have in the game, but I don't think it work. The 20 gauge (significantly more powerful than .410) doesn't do much against anything besides very lightly armored humans and geckos, so I don't see a real point in a .410.

Schofield's nice. Or maybe one of the Smith & Wesson N frames like the hand ejectors or M1917. Is the pump action you're thinking of a .22? Winchester made a real sweet little slide action .22, the 1890. Or maybe a Colt lightning?


I've heard the same complaint about the shot dispersion. Hollow doughnut. .410 also has very small load of shot. There are some loads in 000 buck, but there's only 5 (magnum) or 3 (2.5") compared to 12 in .3" 12ga shells. Much less powerful round. Also, the .45 round the Judge fires is the .45 (long) Colt revolver cartridge (the cartridge the SAA or "Peacemaker" used) rather then the .45 Auto Colt Pistol cartridge that Browning designed for the M1911. As for the weapon itself, I've always thought it was a cute little gun, and would make a pretty powerful holdout piece, but with the short barrel and questionable lethality of the .410 shotshell, it's utility would be limited. If I get the chance, I'll try to model the damage and spread for one using both .45 Colt and .410 000 buck. Taurus has also had to deal with a reputation in some corners for reliability issues, but I can't speak to this since no one I know owns one.

I think a 20 Gauge "hand cannon" revolver built on the concept of the Judge but not exactly the same would be better, as others have said .410 is pretty weak for what we come up against in the wasteland and the .45 ammo is not ACP but rather LC so it wouldn't be able to take the ammo from HH, also LC is generally weaker than ACP anyway and the judge's performance with the .45 ammo is less than stellar when it comes even to shooting soft human targets in self defense situations. A summary: it's really only good as a snake gun. .410 isn't reliable to stop man sized targets and with the .45lc you'd want to hit him with all the rounds in the cylinder which doesn't leave much room for error.


But a 20 gauge shotgun pistol would be pretty boss, maybe the unique weapon could be a 12 gauge version called "The Wrist Breaker".

.410 would be useless. Don't get me wrong I like .410 and I might have asked for one to be in the game along time ago but now I just don't want them. I also find the 20 gauge as a waste along with the .22.

Now what wouln't be a complete waste of time is a 10 gauge.

Funny thing is, the "It ain't a Winchester Model 1887, I swear" Lever-action Shotgun was commonly chambered in 10ga. It never was offered in 20.

A 20 gauge revolver would be pretty cool. It could have a three round cylinder so that it's not ridiculously huge. I'd try one IRL if there was such a thing.

Nah. Fallout needs an absurdly massive revolver, like the Mateba .454 Casull autorevolver or something. Or the .600 nitro express.

The revolver that fires the .600 Nitro Express isn't much of a looker. If going for an "absurd" revolver that spot rightfully belongs to the S&W 500.
