HI,

I have a major problem with this game!

Happens All the time!
Any where in the game!
During any "First" action.

Ive been playing Skyrim through Steam and for the first 10 hours or so I had no issues! ever since then the game seems to crash in the first action I do i.e. spell cast, swing for an attack anything except,walking or talking. So I then have to exit the programme using task manager and restart again and when i do restart it runs totally fine never crashes again. This is where my other issue starts.

After I kill the programme using task manager, the "TESV. exe" is still present under the processes in the task tab and according do that its using up to 600K of memory?!! and when I restart the game i have another "TESV. exe" running in the task manager on top of the old one. wtf?!! I cannot seem to get rid of this off the task manager at all and i cant seem to find an answer online either because it doesnt seem like many ppl experience what im experiencing. Now the next issue...

Whenever this problems takes place, I cant shut down the pc and the it stays on the "Shutting down screen". I have updated all the drivers i think i need and steam is updated too. The Graphics card is updated and everything else is as well. Can anyone please give me any advice on what I can do to solve this issue. Thanks

I'm kinda guessing here.. does you PC have multiple user accounts setup? Are there other users who also play Skyrim on it?

in Task Manager, under the "Process" tab, there's a checkbox option to "Display Processes from all users", if you select that, then sort on the User Name column, do the names associated to TESV.exe match with your login id?

I've noticed problems when shutting it down through the 'Applications' Tab in Task Manager. Instead, click the 'Processes' Tab and scroll down to "TESV.exe *32" and do a 'right mouse click' on it, now select "End Process Tree" from the menu and it should shut down completely.

thanks for the information guys i figured out what the problem was. It was the drivers for the controller that made it crash. I used played skyrim using a ps3 controller so i used Motionin Joy to emulate a 360 controller. As soon as I enabled the controller in game and press a action button the game would crash. So i completely uninstalled the motionin joy driver and used the official driver for xbox360 controller and now it runs fine without crashing(at least not yet). Appreciate your suggestions,
