i went in there using Veronica. removed the computer virus. listened to Mac, the agreed to help Hardin.

after doing the running around talking to people and reading computers, i tried to leave. Mac still in charge, once outside the front door, i am greeted by 5-6 Palidins.

within seconds they cut me down for trying to overthrow Mac.

am i pooched? do o have to go back a few saves and NOT help Hardin?

I didn't help Hardin and it ended up kind of screwing me. All I wanted was to get the power armor and now I have to do the "Eyesight to the Blind" quest and the Nightkin just butt [censored] me every time I try to go up Black Mountain.

But I haven't heard of the Paladin jumping you. How far back did you make a save?

i have saves going to where i enter the bunker for the first time. hope i don't have to go that far back...

I done something very similar to you 8Soft. But I never got jumped by any paladins! Maybe you spoke to someone you should not have done or mentioned it to Mac himself? I believe I only mentioned it to one character and that was the security guy up by the entrance to the bunker to gain further access to the computer systems.

It's part of Veronica's companion quest I think. I took the Paladins down with a Thermic Lance.

I talked them down with a speech challenge... barely. If all you want is power armor, smoke 'em and start shopping. : p

I have heard that a squad can attack you if you catch them on patrol outside the bunker at night before you are accepted, although I have never had the pleasure.

They attacked me too after a dialog that didn't seem to have any ending that didn't end in bloodshed. They are all dead and no one in the bunker seems wise to it. Thanks for the Gauss rifle guys!

i am no where near strong enough to take them on. my strongest guns are just too weak right now. i have almost no armour either.

nevermind i don't have 95 speech to talk my way out.

Isn't the 95 speech check happened in the Follower Outpost?

If they cut you down in seconds, it sounds like maybe you're more low-level a character than that part of the quest was really meant for, or, something like that. hmm.

If you have a pulse gun it'll make short work of them. 1-2 shots each

well i went back and bought a ton of 10mm. was able to use the 10mm subgun. took a couple of tries, but got it done.
