When you have your quest, you can select it's 'Type'. (Main Quest, Side Quest, Mages Guild, etc) According to the wiki, this determines what symbol is shown next to it in the journal, and if it's a Misc quest or not.

Is there any way to make new types, or is this hardcoded? I'd love to have like a 'My Lands Main Quest' and a unique symbol, 'My Lands Side Quest', and a unique Misc catagory for my lands misc objectives. (to keep them separate from Skyrim's misc stuff) I assume all this is hardcoded, so my hopes are low. But does anyone know how to do this by any chance?

It appears that quest types are hardcoded. I looked through the object window and couldn't find anything at all pertaining to the quest types. Kind of lame that there seems to be no way at all to add unique quest types to new factions/questlines.
