So I started making a script-based game in Notepad (just learned how yesterday), and I was thinking of putting a free download on my blog. There's only one problem: It's a continuation of the events that happened in Fallout: New Vegas, and I don't know if I have to ask Bethesda if I can make a Fallout game, even if it's script-based. So does anyone know if I can just upload it without asking because it's free, or do I have to email Bethesda to see if they'll let me make this game that is on their franchise?

As long as you're not making any money of this game and you're not using any assets from the Fallout games... you should be fine
