If anyone here is an American geography buff like me, you may have noticed that in FO3 you could "Leave" DC. The city of (SPOILERS) Anndale, is based off an actual town in Virginia. Or the Bethesda ruins is actually in Maryland (The actual location of Bethesda's main office). Point Lookout is also in Maryland and obviously The Pitt is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So, this leads me to think that we maybe able to go to California, or Arizona, etc. Does anyone know if this is confirmed?

That worked for Fallout 3 because D.C. lies on the crest of Maryland and Virginia. Andale and Bethesda are fairly close to Washington D.C.

I assume we'll probably be able to enter part of Arizona since the Hoover dam is in the game, but that's about it. We'll probably only see other states in DLCs for New Vegas.

Couldn't they just pull a "Pitt" and give us an old train tunnel with a push cart and we could push it anywhere!

well judging by the fact that leas Vegas is right in the corner of Nevada id think that the map may cross over into Arizona and maybe California.

theres not really too much close to vegas but im sure other places will be introduced in with DLC. id like to see them put in state line i used to love going to buffalo bills casino when i was young

Im sure you could at least cross into another state (although barely). Anything more will probably be a DLC.

I think this is correct too. Geography matters to a point, but I think given how much dessert we know is out there, it makes more sense that the entire game takes placde within the general area of New Vegas. They could always take the player to other areas via underground trains as they did with Fo3, but not until the DLCs most likely (if that).

CA is not that far from vegas so we may see that.

Crossing states will be probably DLC exclusive.

We may be able to go into Arizona or California, and maybe the "Mormon Historic Park" location is in Utah, because Utah is a big mormon state.

How do you explain the hoover dam then?

If you look at one of these "http://www.mapquest.com/maps?name=Hoover+Dam&city=Boulder+City&state=NV&zipcode=89006&country=US&latitude=36.016327&longitude=-114.73737&geocode=ADDRESS&id=10627081" things, you'll notice the state line between Arizona and Nevada runs down the middle of Lake Mead- meaning that you don't have to leave Nevada to go to Hoover Dam, as half of the dam is in Nevada- and that half isn't very far from Las Vegas.

Google is your buddy.

It would be bizarre if only half of the dam was in.

You can also leave States in the other Fallouts because they cover huge amounts of area. Fallout has been in many states other then California: Nevada, Oregon, Kansas and Missouri to name a few. Would be nice for New Vegas to have locations in Califonia and Arizona.
