:o Can I paralyze a dragon ?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:23 pm

that would be just so BADASS !

Really getting annoyed when the dragon flys over head looks at me then flys 6 miles in opposit direction to kill something over a hill and then by time i reach it, it flys back to other side of town and I have used up all my stamina and I dont have dragon rend yet ...

but if I could paralyze a dragon oh so much fun could be had

I know, RIGHT!? Dragon is flying away to pester some defenseless mammoth while I'm raking the sky with lightning like an angry God.

Not sure if the paralysis spell works on dragons or not, but I imagine scoring a hit while its airborne would be a spectacular feat indeed.

I've never used the spell on them, but they do resist the poisons. In fact they've resisted every special poison I've ever used on them

You could always walk to one of their roosts. They're the thin dragon head looking icons.

Many illusion spells simply will not effect dragons. It would be consistent if Paralyze was another such.

It won't work. I have a couple hundred 27 second paralysis potions I made at 100 alchemy, and every time I've tried using them against dragons, I get a little pop up message in the corner screen but I can't read it because of my crappy TV format but I assume it says something along the lines of not having an effect, and it doesn't.

Tried it on bows to, no success.

Dragons resist several nifty effects, unsurprisingly also soultrap.
You will get a message in the top left corner saying 'this-and-this dragon resisted (name of effect)'
They are affected by damage health, lingering damage health, ravage health, that I know of.
I have not tried things like weakness to poison or weakness to elemental damage.

No illusion spells work, including the master spells. Paralyze is Alteration, but I doubt that changes anything

Well I have hit one with a orcish hammer that had paralyze on it, while the effect glow occured it didn't seem to slow him down any.

Dragons are immune to paralysis poison and, most probably, spells.

Well not all spells.

Depends on the dragon, no dragon is 100% immune but some have resistance. For example ice dragons are resistant against ice.

Sorry thought you meant paralysis, poison and generic spells. My fault.

I have had slow and paralysis poison work on dragons. I've also had a paralysis weapon work. They work about 20% of the time. However, they work for about a second irregardless of how long the effect is supposed to last. The best description is the dragon stalls/stops then goes again. The weapon is the best as you can whack away at the beast and get it to stop for a second every now and then.

I don't think you can paralyze them, but you can get the drop on them in their lairs with a sneak arrow attack that pretty much does the same thing. Once I figured out how to sneak attack dragons I went all over Skyrim making dragons crash land. It was awesomely funny because it destroys the landscape around them. If you're in a village or city you're pretty much SOL though.

I'd say it would be in your favor to get dragonrend, but it rarely works. I've hit a dragon with it out in the open where it had plenty of space to land and it just kept circling with the blue aura surrounding it.
