Can we *please* get follower transformations?

Aela, Farkas and Vilkas, and... others. All have immesely powerful transformations...

...that they never use. Except in scripted events.

Never when we are out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by bandits, after annoying a giant, and while dodging fire breath - potentially all at the same time. Never when they are crouching, injured, and when I have a sliver of health left.

Frankly, why even give us companiosn that can do these amazing things, if they never will?

...

And if Bethesda won't do it, have I just missed the mod that lets them?

From Kodlak's Journal:

Until we can pursue a true cure, the twins and I have chosen not to give in to the beastblood.

Farkas (despite his scripted "slip" in Proving Honor) and Vilkas have promised Kodlak not to transform any more. So for them not to do it even if you never cure them is not all that surprising.

But I agree that for Aela it's kinda ridiculous, since she loves being a werewolf and has no intention of giving it up.

It was just brought home to me how infuriating this is, after watching a Lets Play of Dawnguard. Thats all I can really say on this part of the forum.

I chose to apply it to Aela (and the others), because then I can actually talk about it here. =P

I can't imagine it slipped by the devs. Especially this long. It doesn't help that its shown to work fine via script. They probobly did it so if you get attacked in a town or settlement the entire area doesn't go hostile on them, but there are ways around that, like making it a power for the player, or having 'safe' zones where they don't transform. Not having them do it at all... bah.
