Ok ranting done.
Now I suggest a humble and simple solution that doesn't require individual bug fixing. (these things are inevitable in a game this big, no judgment on Bethesda. they're doing a great job) A UI change is something that can be done ALONG WITH the bug fixes to keep our menus less cluttered.
Quest items: Add a "QUEST" section to the inventory menu where all quest items (regardless of type) are automatically categorized. The goal is to keep all quest items OUT OF the other sections. (weapons, apparel, potions, etc.)
Quests and Misc Quests: In the quest menu give us an option (maybe pressing "Y" on Xbox or similar on other platforms) to hide quests. (Maybe hold "Y" to open said hidden quest menu?) This way Misc and Main/Side Quest sections only have quests/objectives that matter to me. That way I can hide stuff that is bugged and won't clear my menu or quests that I don't ever plan on completing with my current character.
These changes shouldn't to hard to implement; though I am not an experience programmer. I do know that menus are hardcoded and are not affected by quests/gameworld, so changing this SHOULDN'T break anything.
This way the menus become a little more customizable (which is always a good thing) and give us the ability to clean up our menus without eliminating quests or quest items via the ~ console. (which isn't available to xbox and ps3 players)
