I can't progress anymore!

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 2:32 pm

Hello all. This is my first post and first time being here. I'm on the quest Alduin's Wall. I can't make it to my quest marker because a Blood Dragon keeps attacking me and killing me. Before I had a chance to kill him because I could make it to the sinkhole and the Forsworn would attack him but I still ended up being killed either by them and/or the dragon. Now he's attacking me even before I reach the sinkhole! There is a Saber Cat always on that same path as well. I can run past him but by the time I try to run to the sinkhole the dragon has me, because the dragon is now attacking me before I reach the Saber Cat which he didn't the last time I played. I don't know why this is happening. I don't really feel like starting over already even though my character is only lvl 12. He is a two hand warrior with some skill in archery but not much. Any advice?

Fast travel to a nearby location, than walk it again. The dragon shouldn't be there unless it is a scripted one.

Sounds like you are just getting hit with too many random encounters at once.

Can you croak the saber cat and then have a 1:1 with the dragon? Also before getting there, stock up on restore potions.

i had this problem too. took me 5/6 attempts. don't try to fight anything, just run, head down, straight for the entrance. Esbern and Delphine will follow you inside. DONT FIGHT DA DRAGON!

Yah. Don't forget to use the "sprint" key - if you're close enough you should have just enough stam....

Oh, to be troubled by blood dragons. It makes me want to reroll a new character. The world is always the most alive when you are in danger.

Anyway you can do the following:
Level up a bit.
Get fire resistance, potions or otherwise
Walk to Karthspire with the two blades, let them protect you as per their duty.

Stock up on healing based potions & turn the difficulty down if you want to take on the dragon as well as any others.

Or you can turn the difficulty down & run to the cave.

Well I ended up switching the difficulty to Novice, the easiest one. And I didn't even get to do anything to the dragon before it died! The only thing though, I noticed that Delphie is more squishy to enemy attacks as well, so after the dragon died I switched back to adept. I hate switching the difficulty level though. Feels like I'm cheating...oh well.
