Waaay back on my first playthrough, there was a quest that led me up north;
but I can't remember how I got it, or where it led me.

I remember following the quest marker into the hilly snowy regions, fir trees around, there was a dead man lying in bloody snow, and (I think) a blood trail led to the body of his wife or girlfriend or sister, not far away, lying in a snowy rocky crevice.

There might have been a standing stone nearby, maybe even a giant camp?

Well that's all I remember.
Does this sound familiar to anybody?

probably not a quest , just a little random event thingy.

I remember discovering a corpse with two ice wraiths, and following a blood trail to his wife, but it wasn't a real quest. And I thought I encountered it in the mountains southeast of the map (SE of Riften).
