Can't save an update of a vault!

Post » Mon Jun 20, 2011 5:52 am

Hi all,

I created a basic vault as my first project and saved it as vault101.esp and took it from: C:\Users\Stewart\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data and put it in here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data and when i run fallout new vegas launcher and look in data files and its there Vault 101.esp. When I run it and use the console command 'COC Vault101' it works and is all fine.

The problem comes when I add more to the design and try to save it. I check if the .esp file has been updated but the date modified is still yesterday so i go to check if the file has been saved in: C:\Users\Stewart\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data but there is just a .tes file that has been updated today. Plus when I try to exit GECK I get a message saying "Do you want to save changes to your plugin?" and after pressing yes, GECK freezes and adn has to close.

You may have realised I am a novice so any help would be appreciated,

Stewart Mason

However, if you DID install it to program files, just run everything as administrator by right clicking and saying 'run as administrator'. That goes around the stupid UAC blocks.
