I've been so attached to my warrior Dragonborn, that ive only ever played other characters for achievments... i keep attempting to make a mage, but i can't decide on something i like.. i don't want to use a nord again, i want them to be original, i want to roleplay with them as i do with my main character, but i cant focus on roleplay on anyone else BUT my Dragonborn >__< Can some of you guys show me some pictures of your Mage characters and give me backstory about them so i can get some inspiration (Dont worry, i dont steal peoples ideas, as desperate as i am, i love being original ;D)

My mage character is named Helios. He's a blind druidic mage. He came from a Nomadic tribe culture, they were once Bretons in history, but branched away from the main cities to practice magic their own way. They are not necromages nor do they condone necromancy. Instead they are are more intund with natural magic. My blind mage uses the threads of magic to guide him, he does not have a Daredevil way of seeing. He just like a blind person would, feels invisible walls of magic that guide him. And now that the dragons are awakened this guidance is strong and he can feel the magic walls opening deeper than before.

Second mage I play. The old one was deleted when I had to reinstall my computer. After the reinstall, I tried melee classes, but at the time, I found that I enjoyed mages a lot more. So, I started over from scratch. He is currently lvl 27, and great fun to play (though I've been considering an archer for some time now). Alandor is a Breton, and got arrested for selling potions of questionable legality at the border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim. He supports the Empire and tries to be a good guy but has had a few run-ins with the Thieves' Guild as well. He frequently visits High Hrothgar to train with the Greybeards.

Vigilant of Stendarr. Alteration and restoration. Advanced armor - plate gauntlets and boots. Choice of alteration or restoration Mage robe (both at high level enchanting). Mace and board.

Nord ice priestess. Fur armor. Cold based spells. Summon Ice elementals (2 permanent ones at high conjuration). Chillrend. Take no damage from cold through innate and magic items. Call of valor, blizzard, animal allegiance, ice form shouts.

Mystic warrior. Bound weapons. Archery. One handed (2 bound swords). Silent casting. Sneaking. Shadow warrior. Whirlwind sprint. Conjuration robes (preferably black). Alteration mage armor and flesh spells. At high enchanting conjuration and alteration robes. If you play Breton, get magic resistance to the cap of 85.

Thank you guys for all your input, i've finally created a character i can Roleplay with After i created her i discovered she looks a bit like your character Fleapants xD
I sort of based her on a mix of Sith and Jedi, shes not totally evil, but shes not a goodie-two-shoes either, shes going to use Shock/Lightning magic and a conjured blade .. her backstory i just whipped up now:

In High Rock there is a secret group in High Rock simply called 'Order', it consisted of 5 people, the point of Order was to shift the
goverment and path of High Rock to their advantage, by gaining the favor of people in high places, and thus attempting to become a
secret goverment organization, all 5 were extremely skilled in magic, but mostly practice the art of shock and lightning, it is unknown
how they came to know each other. All members gave up their names when they joined and instead took Titles.. the person of interest
in this tale is the one known as 'Temptress', whos role was, as guessed, to seduct Men and Women in high roles and gain their
favor... or destroy them if they reject the offer, to make sure word of the Order's existence would not leave the group of trust
accumulated with others. Temptress was however slightly reckless, and she knew this, and wished herself to be rid it as she knew it
affected her work, but could never focus on being rid of it. Recently the order discovered of the civil war in Skyrim, and so Temptress,
with her silver-tongue and deadliness, was to go to Skyrim, and gain the trust of the Imperial Legion by helping them out in the war...
however, as we know, Temptress was known for her recklessness when things dont quite go her way on a task, and so a spell was
created by the combined magics of the order, to drain Temptress of her magical ability and skill, and so she would need to re-
gainwhilst learning discipline during her new life in Skyrim, as she had plenty of time to finish her task. Off she set to Skyrim, on the
way she was ambushed by a group of Imperials who attempted to behead her in Helgen, when she escaped she knew she would have
to put that behind her and work with them, for the sake of Order...

During the game Temptress starts to learn discipline and even starts to care for some of the inhabitants of Skyrim, she becomes the Arch-mage of College Of Winterhold and the leader of the Dark Brotherhood, she helps the Imperial Legion stop the Stormcloak uprising but decides to stay in Skyrim for a few years longer, until she can truly help defeat the Aldmeri Dominion and truly gain their absolute favor.

A pure cloth-wearing mage that specializes in destruction with alteration, conjuration, and restoration as his secondary schools.

It took me a while to figure out what I was comfortable with as well. I'm perking heavy into destruction, specializing in fire and lightning, and only the cost reduction in restoration. Eventually I'm goin use the 8 potentall enchanting slots to reduce the cost of conjuration and alteration (3 slots each for 87% reduction) and possibly using the remaing 2 slots to reduce destruction and restoration by another 29% each. I'm relying on a high mana pool to round it out.

On the lvl ups, except for upping my health 4 times, all the other lvl ups have gone to magic.

No melee, no armor.. just magic
