Can't start the DLC (NOT ED-E RELATED)

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:02 am

I started a new character in anticipation of the new DLC, took my time winding around the wastes, entered the Northern Passage, talked to Jed to begin the Honest Hearts DLC and...

System crash. Every time. It makes it about halfway through the loading screen and just locks up. I know that it isn't the ED-E issue- on this character, I never even entered the Mojave Post in Primm. I've never even SEEN ED-E on this character. I've deleted and reinstalled the DLC 5 times now (I'm not being hyperbolic, I counted), and the same thing happens every time.

So what gives? Is anyone else having it glitch out for a similar reason, and have you figured out a fix for it?

Bethesda- I love this game, I really do- but I will not be buying the Old World Blues DLC until I get an all (or mostly) clear regarding bugs. I work too hard for my money to give it to you for a broken product.

edit: I tried deleting Title Update 4, and now it just crashes when trying to load the DLC. So yeah. I guess that didn't work.

edit2: Deleted all dlc, cleared cache, deleted any save in which I might have spoken to that girl, reinstalled the DLC, reverted to an older save and the same thing happened. Whatever, I'm gonna play Blazblue, page me when things are less ridiculous.

All these cache clearing doesn′t help at all. It′s useless.
And never remove the title update and play NV when having it prior Installed.
Anyways, how much DLC′s you have installed while trying to enter ZION.?
And since you fiddling around so much now, best is to do a FRESH install from scratch.
Remove everything
Install NV
reDL your Fallout Pack if u have one.
DL Title update
Install DM
Install HH

Can anybody with Bethesda give me some help with this? As I understand, the patch will include a fix for the ED-E bug, but what about this? I know I'm not the only one experiencing this, and I'd very much like to know whether or not I expect to play Honest Hearts ever.

Honestly, how can you guys let it get this bad? I can understand bugs- even a lot of bugs- in the meat of the DLC itself because of the nature of the game, but glitches that prevent you from even starting it? And more than one of them at that? What? Wouldn't that be one of the first things that you test for? It seems like if all it takes to prevent you from playing the DLC is to have ED-E in your party that it would have been caught in testing.

Forgive me if I come across as caustic, your quality control is seriously, seriously lacking. If the patch doesn't fix this problem, I expect a full refund for my purchase.

Going to see if someone has a suggestion for your issue. Have you tried playing the content from a new game?
