Can I Trust Amazon?

Can I trust Amazon? (.ca)

Are they a reliable service for ordering products off there website? Is it a guarantee that my product will arrive in the mail or is there a good chance that my money will be gone and my product never to arrive? I would really appreciate anything convincing that Amazon is seaworthy (I can trust) or just a site I should stay away from.

I have ordered off BestBuy (.ca) and Future Shop but not always do they have what I need, but Amazon does I'm just not sure if I can trust them.

Thank you

I have ordered maybe a hundred items from them over the past couple of years and they have never let me down. Their items for me at least have always arrived well ahead of their own delivery estimates. This includes over seas purchases, for example I have had to order certain CD's from Germany due to them not being availiable in my country

I would say they are one of the most trust worthy websites you can buy from

They will absolutely steal your money, lie to you, and kick your mother in the shins. That's how they've become the largest online retailer in the world. :P

I lost count of the number of orders I've placed with Amazon. If you can't trust Amazon then I don't see why you would trust any online retailer.

This. Amazon is probably one of the most trustworthy online retailers out there. :) Do note that folks who re-sell through Amazon may turn out to be a bit scammy, but Amazon at least offers you some protection when things like that happen.

Aside from groceries, I do all of my shopping at Amazon. If I can't buy it there, I don't need it.

Amazon is the best! I use it quite a lot, either for fun or ordering books for school They have never let me down. The stuff I order is usually here earlier than they estimated it would be and the prices are superb. As a Canadian, I use Amazon.ca but I'm more than positive Amazon.com is exactly the same in terms of being great.

Yes I am Canadian so Amazon.ca is what I would run with.

Yes, Amazon is just like ordering from Walmart but Amazon doesn't actually have a store. My parents are the seriously hate ordering off the internet and she tried it and she received her books.

Glad too hear some positive information. I feared Amazon wasn’t Seaworthy and would purposely sink with my products In order to scam my money and gain insurance.

Although it is worth noting that their shipping is dependant on the carrier in most cases. (I have no clue what happens if something is lost in the post). I have never had a problem, or known of anyone having a problem

In an age of routinely terrible customer service from most places, I've found that my experience Amazon makes a really nice change: I've had few problems (which is amazing considering how much stuff I order) and any returns are usually handled without quibbling. So, yeah, I'd recommend them.

I used Amazon.ca for years (well, almost from their beginning). Never let me down. I found a book at 0.10$ once (obviously an error) and they let it at that price on my order... but I had to buy many other things to get the free shipping :hubbahubba: . I even tried some third party seller with Amazon and no problems at all. (Use the ones with many stars!). I feel more confidence from Amazon than say e-bay. Plus, you only get to pay for federal taxes, not provincial ones as well... if I remember correctly (might depend on your province, though).
They do have a warehouse in Canada (Ontario and/or BC), unlike many other international commerce on the net. (Meaning faster delivery, no custom surprises).

Amazon has been fantastic for me. Very quick delivery, Good prices. And if I want to return items, no problem. I highly recommend them.

Maybe the only other retailer that I'd rate as highly as Amazon is Newegg.

Shouldn’t you be over on the Skyrim discussion side?

Anyway I appreciate everyone’s support I'm going to place my order soon. You all just made me appreciate the Internet a little more. If my order comes through I think I might become a regular online shopper for Amazon there prices seem to be on the cheap side which is always the good thing right?

Amazon is good. If you have a problem, they're good at redressing it. Amazon sellers on the marketplace are a mixed bag, I'd suggest reading buyer feedback and staying away from anything below 95% positive if possible (depends - use your head, averaging doesn't tell the whole picture, also look at the raw # of negative reviews). Some sellers ship promptly, while others have waited over a week before deciding to ship my item. <_<

Free Super Saver Shipping is awesome.

EDIT: I'm in the US, but I assume that policies and customer care/service is similar to Amazon.ca...

I got a free year of Amazon Prime when they were giving it away to college students, and since then it's become my #1 store for shopping online. I must have ordered dozens of items from them thanks to not having to pay for shipping, and there have only been a few instances where a item I wanted wasn't eligible for Prime. I try to avoid buying from third party sellers whenever possible, but whenever I had to I still got the item just fine. When the free year runs out I'll definitely be renewing it because it's more than paid for itself.
