Can't use iron sights when moving now?

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 1:39 pm

I seem to have something going on when I try move when using Iron Sights now, either when crouching or standing. If I move whilst aiming with iron sights, my gun wobbles all over the screen. And out of the screen at times, if I'm not crouching. I've been using the brush gun but I have also had this problem while using the sniper rifle. I've never noticed it before, my usual gun is the riot shotgun but since the patch fixed single load weapons, I've started using the brush gun. Is this just what happens with the brush gun and other similar weapons?
I have the required level of strength, I'm not crippled nor do I even have significant limb damage, and it happens when I'm not taking any hits. I just want to confirm whether it's something I'm doing wrong, or if I really have just managed to not notice it all this time.

It's somewhere in the 80's, so I think so. Not sure what the skill requirement is for the brush gun, but the sniper rifle is something like 75?

*edit* guns is at 88

It's not like the Courier has spent the past few years training as a Navy SEAL or anything like that. Precision shooting while on the move isn't an easy thing to master.

No, but I'd like to be able to actually hit things when I'm playing the game. It's not like it's a minor wobble, it's full on arm-waving. I can post a video if it just seems like I'm nitpicking about some little shake.

I'm at work now and can't check or remember for sure but maybe there's some setting like character bobbing or whatever it's called when games move the screen up and down when walking and running to make it more "real".

Video. Crappy quality, I know, I'm using Wegame cause it's free. If anyone can tell me if this is normal, I'll deal. If not, I'll find a solution. 'tis all. like I said, i'm just trying to find out if this is normal since it's never happened before. The same thing happens with the 9 mil pistol, so definitely not related to Strength, which is at 9. I forgot to show that my limbs aren't crippled in the video but I can assure you, they're not.

And to Karce- Bethesda forums at work.

Two things I saw. In the second when you were walking towards him the gun should not have moved like that.

In the earlier part you were drifting way off to the right and I don't know if that was you or not. You could try this. Change the batteries in your controls (or keyboard mouse if that is what you have).

Also, you might try fiddling with the Sensitivity settings, I find this game is very twitchy when I use high sensitivity settings.

However, that second part is not normal. I have only noticed gun sway like that when trying to snipe from far away and not to that magnitude. I see some gun sway close up, but not enough for me to miss at the distance you were from the enemy.

Are you using any kind of mods? Because yeah, what I saw in the video is not normal. And since we don't see an abundance of people swarming the forums with the same complaints I assume it could be some sort of mod you might be using. Other than that I'm clueless. :sadvaultboy:

I know your health is full, but it looks as if you've crippled an arm. That's the only thing I can think of that would make your aim sway like that.

I've gotten sway like that before, but only when I have a crippled arm or two. If your arms weren't crippled, maybe it's a mod or something. All I can say is that in 200+ hours of gameplay I have yet to see sway like that under any circumstances except crippled limbs.
