If New Vegas has the same system requirements as Fallout 3, then will my Laptop be powerful enough to play it?

Specs:
Windows 7 64-Bit
Pentium Dual Core CPU T4300 @ 2.1GHz
4GB RAM

I have a built in Graphics Card.


Sorry if this isn't very 'in depth', I'm not the cleverest person when it comes to RAM and stuff.

Without a dedicated card(non-integrated) probably not... maybe on low settings. It really depends on how much video-ram your graphics card has. Integrated cards tend to have really low vram.

Don't Integrated graphics cards use the regualar RAM? That's what I thought anyway.

I think, but they also have a small amount(iono, around 256 MB) dedicated to video processing.

I think I just found out how much I had (Start > dxdiag > Display)

The card (well I think it is) is Mobile 4 Express Chipset Family
Then it says Approx Total memory a little below, which is 1695MB.

My laptop can output in 720p, so is it not good enough?

An Integrated chipset(I bet it's an Intel) will not run the game, as it lacks the required shader. At least, that's what happens with Fallout 3. And considering the engine is the same, your laptop will not run it.

All laptops have built in graphics cards. What matters is what kind in particular you have. An Intel anything won't run NV due to lack of required shaders. An Nvidia or ATI one might, depending on model.

You've definitely got enough RAM, and the x64 OS to use it. I believe your processor, while capable of running the game, is a little on the understrength side though.

The laptop probably has an Intel integrated chipset. Which will not run the game. It does not have the required shader models and is just not powerful enough to run the game. And since its a laptop, you are unable to upgrade. (Even if it doesnt have an Intel chipset and something a bit more powerful like an ATI Radeon HD 4200 or something it will only run on low settings with lag).

Does your laptop play fo3? If it does then yes it will play fonv.

Current gen intel integrated chips have 10 pipes and work at about 500 mhz but they dont have thier own mem they just share system mem.

The ati 4200 uses its own mem and shared mem AND has 40 shader units. It definetly plays fo3 as I use it to do so;/

Duno about the nvidia integrated chip but id imagine its about the same as the ati one.

One thing to note.. your integrated chip might not be current gen.... Id suggest looking up your computers model on google and see what it came with.
