I just got to the point in the game where i can vet veronica (or victoria. i forget) but i currently have Ed-E and Boone. I really like boone and don;t weant to lose him but i want to do V's quests. My question is, what happenes to a follower when you part company? Can you find them again and have them join again? Where do you find them if you can? Do they stay where you left them? I would really love to be able to pick up V to do her quests but then get Boone back when here quests are over.

Yeah you can, if you don't skip the text like most people do, they will say where they are headed too to get them later.
