Can you Play Two Characters at the same time

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:24 pm

Probably a dumb question but I'm at level 20 and was thinking about starting a new character somewhat opposite of my current good male character which is siding with NCR. I didn't want to try a new character until I knew for sure it would save over anything on my current one.

Even if this is a possibility, do most find it better to just complete the game with one character and start over when trying a new one. I can see how it may get confusing when booting up one of your characters to remember what goals you were working on.

Thanks,

The save games show which character it has saved but that's about it, although you can also make if you don't already manual saves.

One method of differentiating between what you're planning on doing with each character save is name your character something appropiate to what you are going to be doing, as the saves show the character names, time played, level and karmic title.

Auto-Saves and Quick-Saves will overwrite from one character to the next, but you should not be relying on those anyway.

PErsonally I run one character at a time. if I feel like a change but may still want to keep that character then I back-up its saves to a different folder.

Just make a good third person "portrait" save, that will keep you from overwriting one character with another.

I usually name my character something that gives them a name (just for RP reasons) and a brief descriptor. Like SarahGUNS or my newest character that I made to play with modding "CHEATAR"

I name my characters with [Guns] or [Pacifist] by the end to remember what each of them are in case I ever want to go back to one but mostly I play one at a time.

I'm mostly inept with my computer, but if your on one, I just create another desk top and load the game from that one. It keeps the files seperate.

For the Pc I think I'd probably move files and keep the save files separate from each other. On the xbox I simply create a new profile.

I play 5 chars at a time on the pc. Its easy to do. I play one char for a stretch then trim the saves for that char down to 6 and pick back up with anouther char. Got a melee unarmed an explosives an energy weapons a guns and a supermodel build.

I use the console to create named saves.

Works quite well for me.

Just make a new folder and back up all of one character's saves there, then start from scratch.
