Can you restore a default object that in a mod?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:15 am

I edited a NPC in a mod and found out that changes I made in the mod messed up another mod. I don't want to redo the changes I made in the mod in order to get the other mod to work. Is there any way to restore the default object from the falloutNV.esm into the mod? I deleted the object in the mod and got the other mod to work fine but it would be helpful to know if I can "rollback" the changes. Any thoughts - hopefully this is a "noob" question and someone can help me...

I apologize about the cryptic title...

Please download fnvedit from newvegasnexus, which allows you to remove changes. For any complex modding, you should really review your mod with fnvedit to make sure it does not have any unintentional changes.

Thanks - I was afraid of that. I didn't see any option in GECK to undo changes even though you reference that default file (falloutNV.esm) and it recognizes a change in the GECK. I tried nvedit - I assume that you need to install nvedit in the fallout directory also?

I did not quite understand. Fnvedit can be installed anywhere. Are you able to get fnvedit to work? It may be helpful to get the fnvedit training manual from newvegasnexus also.
