Canadian Grand Prix

I've only been watching f1 for about 3 seasons, but that was the most entertaining f1 race I have ever seen. Constant crashes, constant madness! It was awesome! And JB finished off an amazing drive by pressurizing vettel into a mistake... and won the race! (I am English :D). I was getting pretty tired of the german national anthem tbh.

Hamilton crashed AGAIN though?!?! and into JB? He's a good driver but he is reckless. Too many DNF's for him. Hope he stops crashing so many times -_-

What are your thoughts on the season so far?

I gave up on F1 racing and Indy racing along time ago. I even have a hard time watching Nascar now, but that is the only racing I watch now.

The thing I don't like about F1 was back when I use to watch it, if you are not in the top 5 when you start, in most cases you don't win anymore. At least in Nascar, in the big races 1.5 miles or more, it doesn't matter where you start you can still win from the back and there is alot of passing in Nascar and not much in F1 or Indy. Then agian when I tried to watch the Monrteal race, it was rained out so I watched something else and forgot to get back to it.

Seemed like a good race as you explained, I wish I didn't miss it.

Good season so far. Vettel dominating is removing some of the suspense (Bit like the Schmacher years), especially as his nearest rival keeps taking himself out.

Vettel is starting to make mistakes now. So maybe the rest of the season will still offer some surprises.

As to the Canadian GP. Hamilton's crash was just silly. He pushed it too late. Button was in the racing line and there just wasn't room, even if they hadn't collided Lewis would've probably clipped the wall anyway.

A lot of the teams were definitely caught out by the weather. Saturday was spectacular as was Friday and all the practicing and qualifying was done on a bone dry track. Come the race, and while they may have expected rain, the sheer amount of it must have been unexpected judging by the less than steller track clearing operations.

Yeah, the rain was crazy. Nobody was ready for that.

You know whats ironic about vettel, is that he probably grew up watching michael and now he's kicking his ass ;D
Glad to see he is human, too. He seemed like a 1st place robot at the start of the season.

I've been mostly following F1 for national interest since 1982, but now we only have one fellow Finn in F1 and in a Lotus, so it has been a little less interesting when he always finishes around the 19th position. I still watch the races though.

Vettel has been dominating this season. Last season the team still had problems with reliability or the drivers just crashed out, but this season they are even more dominating as they also stay on the track.

I don't think Hamilton did anything wrong this time. He just has a tendency to push himself into desperate places which ends up with him or the other driver getting knocked out of the race. McLaren was also nearly indestructable, according to Alonso. Alonso crashed into Button, but Button still won the race. In Malesia, Alonso collided with Hamilton and lost his front wing. Good to see a British driver win for a change though.

Good to see Schumacher get a chance at the podium too after a long time being beaten by his German/half-Finnish team mate Rosberg. As a Finn, I would rather see Rosberg continue beating him in races.

Also, for having such a fast car in practice sessions and qualifying, Ferrari seems to be doing very badly in races.

I definitely did not expect Vettel to spin there. He is such a pro that I thought he could handle the pressure.
Also many drive through penalties for stupid mistakes like wrong tyres, exceeding speed limits etc.
Schumacher surely still knows how to drive aggressively like he pushed many away who were trying to overtake in the corners.
I loved how Kobayashi simply put himself and his car on the other side of the track at a grid marking, when everyone else simply formed a line like they ought to.
The weather just made it tedious. The commentator just went bananas."If you only switched on now and you wonder what you've missed during the last three hours, I say it was incredible, you missed the race of your life. No, just kidding, you missed NOTHING at all, they did a bit of freewheeling behind the safety car and they've been standing still for the most part *epic sigh*" and after the restart "OMG OMG OMG We just gained a lap! Extraordinary, ladies and gentlemen!"
The only more spectacular race I've seen was in Spa '98 or so. Multiple, like three restarts and they all ended into a huge pile of scrap metal before the first corner. I think only eight or so got away in the end. :bonk:
This season? Well, we've had Vettel dominating, I missed Monaco and Hamilton isn't quite at his peak.

Yeah, where have all the flying Finns gone? I'm only a bit exaggerating if I say Finns are all born with a car glued to their arses.
