at least half of those people saying they're cancelling their pre-orders are joking, iff not all of them.
Those few who are legitimately saying that they're cancelling their pre-order but still buying the game likely mean that they'll wait a few months to a year for the price to go down to get it at a discounted price. Which, in my opinion is silly as so far elder scrolls games seem to follow a trend that their price drops very slowly, I think oblivion's only dropped by maybe 20$ in the last 4 years, you have to ask yourself would rather save 20$ or have the game 4 years earlier?
A few others also saying the same thing as above, buying the game after release, are worried about bugs. Now sure, this is a valid worry, but Bethesda has repeatedly said how they're working hard to remove bugs, and that Skyrim isn't supposed to be very buggy at release. On top of that, Bethesda is usually pretty good at releasing patches. The people with these fears will wait a few weeks to a month, still pay full price for the game, and yet get a version without many bigs in it. It's sound logic, bhut personally i'd rather deal with a few minor bugs, just have to remember to save a lot and in lots of different slots for the first few weeks.
