Ok, my question is, that when you go underground to a dungeon or cave that no one has been in for however many years, how are the candles still lit? Like when I'm in the room where

The candles are still lit? And no one has been in their for probably a billion years. Explanation?

And when you're in a house or basically anywhere. There are candles up hanging from the ceiling lighting the room, about 6 inches away from wood ceiling or walls, how do the houses not burn down?

That's not as bad as going into the deepest depths of an ancient Nordic ruin... and finding 3rd Era books on shelves.

I'm trying to convince myself (in a Lore sense) that through the generations, people have come to these runis to pay their respects by leaving gifts. Now the dragons have returned and stirred up the dead.

I can only inject this type of reasoning for so long before bad game design overcomes this thought process.

The same folks who restock the fresh bread keep em stocked and lit. Necromancers and necrophiliacs I guess. Maybe Draugr want light to. Or your not the only adventurer plenty of fresher corpses laying around dungeons. Dwemer ruins have automatons who act like they still have a use so keep the lights on. The scroll bends time, so maybe time is not moving? If in doubt magic.

Here's one of the "some": Turbine (at least when I was there they did)

As far as Bethesda goes, they might lurk in theses forums using ninja tactics.... who's to say that KiLlZoOrS2b78_51, who just created an account today, isn't Todd Howard in his alter ego?
