I have Skyrim on the PC. I've found that after re-binding a few keys, I can no longer drop items from my inventory. When looking at my inventory, it is still showing Press R to Drop, but R will NOT drop the item?

What am I overlooking?

Hate to bump my own thread, but... well, I really wanna play the game.

I see there are many, many threads on the key-binding issues, but so far in my search, I've found nothing that will let me drop my inventory items again... and I'm getting nearly overburdened.

Did you post about this in another thread? Or am I just recalling someone else having the exact same problem?

Anyhow, another thread was created (it's long) about this issue. One of the Bethesda folks actually posted in that thread and was going to try to resolve the problem for the upcoming patch. They said they were gonna try to duplicate the issue. Seemed to have something to do with conflicts after remapping keys.

No, not me. I was not able to find another thread with the "dropping problem." I DO however see problems with the remapping of keys all over the place if I do a search for it in Google.

There are many threads on this. Some so active they've reached their limit.

Also try searching for "Key Binding" and "Key Mapping"

Being unable to drop after remapping the [R] key is one of them.

Try using the keu you use to sheate/unsheate weapon,thats the function of R in default,works for me.

And neocoolzero, I could not get it to work by doing what you mentioned. I think it was because I had assigned my sheathe/unsheathe weapon key to one of my side mouse buttons. Regardless, setting that one back to "R" allows me to drop items once more. So thanks for that heads-up.

Geez, I hope they get this patched up quick... I really wanna use my own custom key set-up. As I'm sure many others do as well.

Oooooooh, I think thats why its not working for me now. This remapping bug along with craptastic UI is really dissapointing Beth
