So, this is the first time i have run into issues with my game (Massive crash). All of a sudden, i cannot enter the strip through freeside or after taking the ncr monorail. I have tried entering with different items, quests, ect, enabled/active, but not sure how to clear the cache (apparently that helps) any suggestions appreciated.

to clear the cache, if you have the console on autoload, hold the A button down as soon as you turn the system on and keep pressing it for few seconds after the start of the opening screen, where you can start or load the game.

I have the exact same issue... but I found out, through the other side of the strip If I look down I will be able to enter :S but it will freeze up UNLESS I am quick enough to look at the Lucky 38 :S I will be able to enter it... buuut I won't able to leave it... and I have sent all my companions into lucky 38 -_-, except the ghoul and the dog. I can enter Gomorah IF i look down and look at the direction at the Tops. So there is something in the strip that kinda [censored]s up the game :S I can go finish everything up in the game, except for that part in the strip... really really svcks to be so limited in the game especially when you want a different companion with you.

Having the same issues myself. This is my second play through and the first time this has happened to me. Try entering the Strip from the North Entrance and a few seconds after the load screen I get a black screen and a totally locked up system. To make matters worse if possible I had the game set to autosave on entering new area's and this led to the autosave being corrupted.

Now I can't get back to my suite in the Lucky 38 where I've stashed some of my best equipment.

Have you guys tried wearing an "Old Cowboy Hat" while entering the strip? Sounds like the colin mccafery bug where if you kill him and turn the hat in it just keeps crashing

funny you mention that, i just killed him, and now whenever i enter the strip the load screen comes up then goes all black and the entire system crashes. any fix?
EDIT: just wikied it. you were right, it says that for my exact situation to try wearing the old cowboy hat from the atomic wrrangler. Will try later tonight.
very well documented glitch, wish i had just done some actual research last night instead of just wining to the bug forums lol

So that's the bug and it's got a name -_- omg can't they fix it...
