Cant cure my werewolf disease

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 10:50 am

I wanted to cure my werewolf disease and brought the witches head to kodlak. When I arrive, the silver hand has attacked and kodlak is dead. I do not remember which one in the companions, but he starts to talk to me about revenge and that I should see him when Im ready.

But when I want to start the quest I cant talk to anyone at jorvaskr. It says that everybody is busy.

What should I do? I really would like to be cured so I can get well rested bonus.

Everytime I arrive at jorvaskr, even several days the last time I was there, they all stand in the same positions and nothing has changed

I have the same issue. Just finished the quest a couple of days ago. It seems we may be screwed:

Unless waiting 32 days will reset things to the point that the quest will be enabled again. Just great, as usual. As if the freezing/slide shows were not enough.

I am almost sure it is supposed be that way. Besides, it grants you with 100% disease resentence.

Odd, I finished this questline last night, and when I had to cure Kodlak, I had enough witches' heads with me to cure myself.

When I went back to see Kodlak when he died, I had to go into Jorvaskr. As soon as I walked into Jorvaskr I was approached by a brother and asked where I had been and not there to help out. Then without anything else, he started following me until we went to 'avenge' Kodlak.

Sounds like your script got broken :(

When you enter Jorrvaskr, (after the Silver Hands attack) you have to talk to either Farkas or Vilkas for the revenge quest. Once you get it,I believe they meet you at the entrance to the tomb. If they aren't talking to you then your questline is glitched. If you saved with it like this you are screwed. I had to leave and re-enter Jorrvaskr a few times before it would work right. And yes, Kodlak is suppose to be dead.

After 366 hours into my game, I've found that the Companions quests (and Jorrvaskr itself) are some of the glitchiest in the game. My advise would be to make sure everything is working correctly before making any saves. Once you save a glitch you are stuck with it forever.

If you cleared Driftshade refuge before you return the witch's heads to Jorvasskr, you're effed. You need to wait until Driftshade Refuge repopulates, THEN accept Kodlak's quest to get the witch's heads. If you have a save from before you accepted Kodlak's quest, I'd recommend returning to that and doing something else for a month (in-game time). Then, maybe take a trip to Driftshade just to see if its repopulated (don't kill anyone in there, just see if it's repopulated. I killed the Silver Hand outside and it was fine). If its repopulated, you can then accept Kodlak's quest and will receive the next Companions quest after talking to some people (Vilkas, I believe) within Jorvasskr after Kodlak is killed.

So I am screwed. "new" game engine, same old Bethesda story. I can understand the difficulties fixing the performances issues (although that is unacceptable anyway) but to mess up the quests is unbelievable. Well, not really since Bethesda even manages to mess up the weapon racks, mannequins, book shelves… I wonder if they ever realize how BAD they are as programmers. GOTY my butt. Bethesda games are just a losing lottery.

I dont really care about the missing quests, I just wanna get cured.

Is there some other way to get cure from werewolf disease.

Can I get to the place where you cure yourself without anyone in the companions with you?

I had this problem in my old file (now deleted due to main story quest lock) but I did eventually get to cure myself. I couldn't do it after I cured Kodlak, I then helped Farkas cure his werewolf disease, couldn't do it with him there, but when I went in alone after that, I seemed to be able to do it. I've no idea why curing yourself is so difficult ^.^'

SPOILER ALERT!!!

@ilew117, I just completed this quest line last night. After I get back from killing the 5 witches, I get lambasted by Vilkas. I then had to attend his Nord funeral & @ that point nobody would talk to me but that blacksmith told me to get the final Wuuthad fragment, which I did, & took Kodlak's journal. The blacksmith then told me to go to Underforge to meet w/ Circle & then it all played out just fine. Nobody told me I could cure myself but I heaved a remaining head into the receptacle & was then warned whether I wanted this to happen.

Once I got back home I could divest of the remaining heads.

The problem here is that Vilkas just asks where we were and doesn't fork out the new quest...

Anyway, fortunately my PS+ Autoupdate didn't work (for a couple of days) so I could retrieve a game save that should be at a point before the witches. I copied it and I'll use it after I finished with the current one just to get the trophy. Still this is unacceptable. That's why I hate games coming from the PC world. They were so used to the Wndows Blue Screen of Death that they consider normal if an application is broken. Not to mention that on PC people can even use the game console to fix the broken quests. Unbelievable. A game must play right out of the disc.

I think Skyrim was programmed for the Xbox360 then ported to PC and PS3...

It would be cool if you kill them without reaching a certain point in the story but when it is not supposed to happen then that becomes a problem.....hmmm well the only thing if you can't load a previous save file is to start a new game so yeah.

Same thing happened to me on my 1st char. So, I just ignored the Companions until my 2nd playthrough. My Civil War quests also bugged out and was unable to continue. Serves me right for exploring before they tell me too. Stupid, stupid me.
