I was trying to fix the archery bug (skill reduced from 100 to 25 and red, but no disease listed and altar doesnt cure) by spending time in jail. I figured the reduction in partial skill gain might kick start the game to realize that 25 is wrong. So I smacked a guard in the face and chose "take me to jail". Then after he says Ill rot in jail the game freezes up. I havent had a lockup in any other part of the game and Ive been playing for months. Tried in different towns and it always happens. Anyone else getting this and/or know of a fix? Not using any mods.

Right now what you should do is use the option to "verify integrity of the game cache". That will check the game files to ensure none are corrupted.

Thanks. That fixed the arrest problem. Still have archery bug, but it might be just a display issue.
