Use the monorail at Camp Mcarren, its far easier than killing the robots guarding the strip gates, go into Camp Mcarren and then up the stairs there should be a sign saying Monorail, and there will be 2 people from the NCR guarding the doors, DON'T kill them, just run through the door, it will go to a loading screen, once loaded use the monorail which will take you to the strip.

what if the monorrail blew up as soon a i went out the door the train took off and it blew up never even got a chance to get on it

My problem is every time i enter the strip it loads all the way and then i get a black screen, then on top of that the game partially saves over the autosave and i get a corrupted file.... any ideas for this one? i tried the clearing of the cache and i didnt dl the patch to see if that would work but nope. i can revert to a previous save, well before i got the passport but then i dont know if it will do it again and i will have wasted like 5 hours walking up to jamestown and stuff like that and doing the missions for the kings. I think it might be because I passed the mission they went thata way and went straight to new vegas idk any tips? has this happened to anyone else?

It's a quest you do. Quest I did before I ever went to the New Vegas strip. While you're investigate leaks at Camp McCaran, the monorail happens to get blown up. I never got to ride the damn thing.
