So I just completed my first run-through of Fallout New Vegas. I wanted to start a new game and make a new character and visit one of the games alternate endings. However, upon gtetting to the title screen, hitting New Game and acknowledging that it would overwrite my Autosave, behold, nothing happened. It does NOT crash or freeze or lock up, it simply doesn't load. Im still on the menu, I can load rpevious saves, change settings and even hit new game again and re-attempt to start a new game. Everytime I hit everything I need to so it SHOULD start a new game, it doesnt, in fact nothing happens at all.

I have tried removing all the save files from the file and starting a new game, which did not work. The game is simply just failing to initialize a new game. Is there any way I can fix this to start a new game or am I stuck with my older saves?

isnt it great when you paid 50 dollars are forced to update and what you paid for does not work anymore?

even better when the developer does not even comment on this at all - nor Steam.

I have the same issue right now, and am searching for a fix. I can load saved games fine. Just cant start a new one.

Try verifying the game cache.

Library>(Right click) Fallout NV>Properties>Local Files (tab)
