Caravan Card limit?

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:55 am

During my ventures in New Vegas, I decided to collect all of the Caravan Cards possible. I got very close to my goal (there are 270 different cards, and I had 268), and then finally got the two cards I was missing. But they didn't get added. They don't show up in my inventory, and I know that I purchased them, as I was keeping track. I even purchased them multiple times, but no dice. I have 269 cards (1 extra that is a duplicate), and I can't get any more! Is this a glitch, or is there just a cap on the cards you can have in your deck?

huh. I remember seeing a mod on the NV nexus that addressed the issue of caravan cards not being added to the caravan deck, but I don't think I've ever heard of them not being added to the inventory what-so-ever. I would think there was some kind of limit on how many you could have then, if there all of a sudden not going into your inventory. could be something else though, entirely.

maybe after purchasing another from a vendor, check the ground around you to see if it gets dropped? could be a possibility, if there not being added to your inventory then where the hell are they?

They weren't on the ground, I can tell you that. I usually look down after buying from a vendor because if I move while looking down, there's less stress on loading visuals in New Vegas, and less likely to freeze. I think they're getting added, just not counted. The game still does that half-second lag from putting the card into the deck, but it just doesn't get added. If it IS a cap, why 269? That's such a weird number?! Now if Dead Money comes out for PS3, I won't be able to add the Dead Man's Hand cards to my deck :(

this is why I kind of wish the series was strictly PC, so when something like this happens (among many other things) you could use console commands to get it or see if there really is a card limit and remove it in the GECK.

maybe to see if there is a limit, you could try and place a few cards in a safe storage container, and go back to try and purchase it and see if it's added? I'm not sure if you can store them, as I never really bothered with them.

it could be a glitch with the specific cards, the way you collected them, or anything related. I don't really think there's a limit, either, but if it's a glitch/bug you'll have to try and find random ways around it, without knowing if anything will actually work for sure.

hope you figure something out, and if you do, post back here for people with similar problems. I'm sure others out there have encountered the same thing.

I tried storing the cards, but you can't take cards out of your Caravan Deck (otherwise I would have removed the extra King of Diamonds from The Tops that I have). I'm going to try just buying any cards the merchant has when I get back to my PS3 and seeing if any register.

I was also collecting caravan cards, i got loads of duplicates and after a while it wud crash imediately when trying to pay for them, now i cant buy any at all... from any vendor.

if you want to store your cards seperately you cant be holding the caravan deck when you find or purchace new cards or they are instantly added. i left the deck in my nipton house and would store the cards in a safe but it seemed when i exeeded 150 in the safe and 160 in the deck my cards stopped being added in to my inventory when purchased. i continued buying cards regardless and then it started crashing on purchace every time....

How did you leave your Caravan Deck? It's marked as a quest item for me, so I can't put it in storage.
