Carefully Deleting Data Details.

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:28 pm

So...

My mod somehow, mysteriously screwed up a couple of landscape cells around BleakwindBasin (or BleakwindBasinExterior01). Been carefully backing up and ignoring cell changes under my MOD Detais, to try to get the engine to ignore whatever changes occured to this area. Problem is this: I created a custom world space for this mod, therefore sometimes I have cell data changes with the same coordinates, and I am not sure which corresponds to my custom worldspace, and which corresponds to the Tamriel Worldspace.

Furthermore, once I have figured out which cell is which, and have ignored changes, and confirmed which changes caused the problem, how do I permenantly delete the changes as opposed to just ignoring them?

Any help appreciated.

Well, I figured out an easy way. By renaming the broken cells, I can esily track them down for change ignoring in the data list.

When you 'ignore' objects in the details list, when you save the mod next, they should not be saved with your mod and will thus be 'removed'.

Yep. Noticed this. Fixed the problem. It was a fairly easy, but annoyingly time-consuming process.

Might want to verify that all your ignored items actually got removed.

For whatever dumb reason, the 'ignore' doesn't always ignore. Several people are having 'phantom edits' where items are marked as changed which aren't actually being touched. When marking as ignore, it pops back up post-save anyway.

I've used TESV edit... Not sure If I downloaded a beta version or what, but I've got it. Somebody linked it to me in the thread where I was freaking out about a broken cell.

I may message you a link later, just in case you can't find it.

Yeah the TESVEdit that is out was a tool you could use before the CK came out to make stuff. The TESVEdit I want is a utility to be used ON mods that you've already made. It's an amazing tool and I cannot wait for it! (My mod has more dirty records than all the governments of the world combined...)
