you need more luck and with luck you have to take things into considreation what is their top card and what do you actually have, can you do a double down and have your luck pull you though to get 21 or a 20.

If you are reffering those 2 pieces of three of crosses, heres the ansver:

Its just Iv never played any card game with more than one of the same card in the deck.

In the real Las Vegas, it's common for them to use three or four decks in the dealer's shoe to help counteract card counters. So such a thing is not likely a bug, just represents how things work.

Blackjack runs that way in casinos. Like Ashya put it, in a very simple and straightforward way, it's just a way for the casino to stack the odds in it's favor. Also, even if you used just one deck of cards (52-54 cards depending if you include the Jokers) you'd still end up with more than one of a particular card sometimes since there are four of each. Four Aces, 2-10, Jacks, Queens, Kings. The exception is Jokers which there are only two of but Blackjack doesn't include those.

Casino shoes are usually 4 - 8 decks. The less decks the tighter the rules are when you can double, whether the dealer has to hit on a hard 17, etc.

I haven't actually gotten round to gambling yet. What minimum luck is recommended?

What you see there is not uncommon, as some have mentioned, for a multi-deck shoe. The problem is the dealers appear to be hand dealing a single deck. They likely need to add more decks to make it a bit more difficult to take advantage of an advantage situation. Still not that difficult on a up and up game. I suspect, however, the FONV games aren't totally on the up and up if they are factoring in "luck."

I'd say 5 Luck. Anything above 7 Luck and you can't lose... Unless you do something stupid like hit on 20 or stay on 15.

Don't the casinos change the shoe when there's only one deck left also?

About half or two thirds through I think. Anything to keep people guessing. Mostly because people will try to do about anything to cheat/rig things in their favor and win big. Mind you, I've never been to Las Vegas myself, so my information is all second hand and from television...

Honestly, in New Vegas, I am a bit surprised that the casinos just don't flat out cheat. Assuming that that don't of course. It's not like there is anyone going to be watching over their shoulders like in the real world.... They are the powers and government for New Vegas. Or at least Mr House is. They just need to be subtle enough that the people don't realize they're being bled dry so they they can keep getting new svckers.

LOL. No, trust me, I have 7 Luck and I doubled down on everything. 20s included. I'd just get an ace. At 7 Luck if you double down on everything, max bet, you will win around 3 or 4 out 5 hands no matter how absurd it is. You'll also get blackjack every few hands. In about 15 minutes you'll break the casino. I did it to all of them last night. I haven't tried it, but another person on this board played with 9 Luck plus sixy Sleepwear (effectively 10 Luck) and didn't lose a single hand.

Another person mentioned they were having no luck at 6 Luck. They got an implant for 7 and instantly started experiencing what I described. So apparently 7 is some magical cutoff point.

Typical casinos in Nevada use 6 decks I think for blackjack. It cuts down on card counters and cheating.
