Cell Edit properties greyed out?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 10:50 pm

While working on a mod, I tried to edit the properties of one of my cells and it was greyed out. It had previously been available to edit, and I have no idea why I could not edit it. I saved, closed the CK, but still no luck. I looked online, could not find any posts about it. So, I made a duplicate of the cell and was able to edit the duplicate cell. At that point, I stopped looking for an answer, but the problem has reoccured. I've checked random cells to see if this is effecting all the cells, but it is not. The problem is not even limited to the cells I've modified either, having checked those and being able to change Edit properties.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Thanks

When that happens, just click on another cell in the list - don't open it, just select it - then click back on the cell you want to edit.

@ch0k3h0ld - I tried that before I made the duplicate and after if happened to my duplicate, but no change on the greyed out cell properties.

I've had that as well. I found that I could still put in values in the fields, ie i changed the name of a cell, then clicked on another cell without loading it, and then back to the cell I was working on. The fields were no longer grayed out.

Sorry, works for me every time. I suspect I did not explain it well. When I have the edit window open where the options are visible but greyed out, I click on another cell in the list and immediately back to the intended cell and the options are now available to edit. I believe it to be a safety feature to avoid unwanted edits, but it may be just a glitch. I use it a lot. My current mod has 16 or 18 cells at the moment (not sure which) and I've been working through the lighting the past few days.
