Chakrams; Spears More Stabbing

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:10 am

So, this is just more o a thread of my weapon wish list. And what other people wish for weapons, either existing or not existing.

I'd like to see Chakrams in Skyrim. All though that probably will never happen. But I can wish. That's why this is a wish list.

What do you wish for?

Flails, crossbows, and spears mostly (Both one and two handed for Halberds), I think they have a good variety at the moment, I just wish they had MORE of the current set of weapons. I'm not raining on anyone's parade or anyhting, but I read alot of posts about people requesting samurai swords, kunai, chakrams, and a bunch of other oriental weapons and I can't help but shake my head. This is ES, not Naruto or whatever. It just doesn't have the right feel, in fact, I think the Akaviri swords are pushing it. But hey, we have yet to go the Elswyr and other places, maybe they'll use the wepons styles you guys want.

I hope that if they bring in spears that they will bring in bo staffs. It would make me happy and it would just be the blunt version of a spear anyways?

Personally I'd like to make dragonbone as I don't have a PC version of the game. However I'd like to see the swords be more 15th century and less roman.

All the weapons that were removed from morrowind and daggerfall.
Also, a more diverse selection of katana and scimitars.

Chakrams are not Asian. Actually I find that they would fit the Redguard very well actually, imo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakram to inform you.

When worn on the arms the chakram could be used to break or cut the opponent's arms while grappling. In the turban, it could be raked across an enemy's face or eyes while fighting in close-quarters.

Note in the word in bold. In the turban and don't the Redguards have turbans.

Hand to hand options?

Various types of swords that are not limited to the current standard fair.

I'd like to see the following:

Short Sword
Long Sword
Scimitar
Cutlass
Sabre
Katana
Rapier
Foil

Hook swords
Naginatas
Metal-tipped quarter-staffs for all the monks
Bamboo spears
Fokos (mixture of an axe and miniature warhammer, useful for cracking skulls and joints)
Bullwhips (with small, sharp metal objects fixed to the end; the end of the whip can reach supersonic speeds if handled properly thus cause massive damage to tissue and skin as well as making a big ol' cracking sound)
proper Sabres
Throwing knives
Javelins
Realistic viking axes (not the crap you see in the game)
Claymores
MAKE THE IRON SWORD FRIGGIN STRONGER I DON"T WANT TO USE ANY OTHER SWORD IT IS THE BEST AND MOST HISTORICALLY ACCURATE!

Just a few off the top of my head.

Hook swords would be pretty sweet.

Bladed staffs would actually be kind of cool. [sue me I liked the concept, hated the game]

Some of you guys are listing off historical weapons and criticizing skyrim for having non-historical weapons, but The Elder Scrolls games do not take place on Earth they take place on Nirn so weapons can have their own style within that world.

Theyre considered foreign weapons and mysterious, thats most likely why they cant be created, however i know scimitars can be improved

Yet they have Katanas and Scimitars. And other historical weapons. This angle doesn't fly.

Shouldn't Dwarven and Daedric weapons also be "mysterious?"

I wasn't complaining. I made this very clear this was more of a weapon wishlist.

Are you referring to me stating that axes in the game look like crap and are nothing like viking axes? Well if you're going to draw such startling similarities between in-game races and real nations (i.e. Nords and Vikings it's even in the name for goodness sake), then you might as well give them weapons that don't look like some blow-up rubber toys from an amusemant park.
