Challenges

Is there any known strategy for beating the outrageously cheap NPC's in these challenges, as I can't rely on the retardly stupid teammates that get assigned me, for nothing more then cannon fodder. I've tried putting turrets up. Turret just stares the enemy right in front of it, and lets him destroy it. Grenades? Knockdown to one second, they get up, kill me instantly. Teammates? I thought the developers said the NPC's were intelligent. I can see the enemies working together to stop my team, but does my team do anything to stop them? They die. That's about all they do to help. I'm an Engineer, so I'm built to put turrets down and support. Not take on entire teams on my own. Also, don't say it requires luck. There is no luck when you die so easily against the NPC's.

Is there any concrete strategy to beat this, or do I have to wait until the developers get off their butts to fix their obvious mistakes in the NPC's.

Nope pretty much any strategy will fail constantly. If you are going to succeed it will be by dumb luck. I'm not trying to be insulting I'm serious, I tried dozens of strategies for the Thinking Objectively or whatever and still failed miserably.

Have the developers mentioned any word about fixing these ridiculous problems with the AI, or are they just gonna leave us here to die, just as long as they get paid?

I dunno to be honest I just rented the game today and was like WTF people paid $60 for this? I bought Section 8 Prejudice recently for $20 and felt that it was better put together than this game.

I'm kinda glad I bought Bioshock 2 as well yesterday. Gives me something GOOD to play while I wait for this to fix itself.

Well I rented it for three days but if it goes back tomorrow I get a dollar back so I'm returning it. Alot of people seem to be enjoying it but to me I'd rather get a dollar back than have it two more days.

ok, ive beat 3 stars on all the challenges for 2 characters now and 2 stars on 2 of them with a friend and this is what i can tell you

Objectives:
Step 1 - The first one you start as a soldier just sprint to the bomb site and plant it youll have it set and be back in cover gaurding it before they ever get to you.

Step 2 - This is by far the most difficult. Change to your engineer and jump up and drop a turret on the roof of the room that the computer is in, set it facing the stairs. let it watch the stairs for you (make sure its back from the edges enough to not get shot by guys on the ground. set your mine at the top of the stairs and then start fixing it. i usually die when i get just over half way done and have to do the process over again. try crouching and standing while your doing it for some reason they dont shoot at you as much. also if you use the 3rd floor to traverse the level you wont get shot at and you have cover from guys that might be near the generator when you come down as theres a box thats great cover on that side you can sneak in behind

Step 3 - run up to the top of the stairs and plant a mine there and then run and change to operative the mine will stay and cover you while you hack. when your hacking back up against the boxes that are blocking you from the stairs and look down the hallway to watch that side for yourself

Step 4 - run over when youve completed the hack and drop down and grab the code and the door will open to leave on the right tunnel. as soon as you get out hang a left and run down that side and at the far set of stairs theres some crates you can run up and then its a 5 second activation to finish

NOTE - the layout of the objectives is different from 1 and 2 star and 3 star and the multi person version is easily twice as hard as the single. you also wont get the unlockables if you multi person it. the layout for the objectives for multiperson is the same as the 3 star and is the example i used above

Parkour:
The 3 star one is kind of a pain you only have enough time for 1 small mess up. the first one you should go for is the one on the far right side near the begining. Its the hardest and if you can nail that one off first its easy.

the easiest way ive found to get to it is to run up on the cement block thing at the start and down that little catwalk then jump strait over to the right and up then over and after that its easy street. BE CAREFUL after you drop down in that little cage and jump across. the double ledge will launch you up and over and you wont be able to save the run. so after clearing that gap take it slow... an extra 2 or 3 seconds on that part will save you the run. after you get that just go in a clock wise circle and get the rest. the last one should be the one in the middle on the ground and then its a 4 second run to the finish.

ignore the rest of them that arent immediatly in your way. it should be noted that each one you get adds a couple seconds to your time... its not enough to save you if you mess up but it can make all the difference. the second tip i have for this one is to leave the one on the ground for last if you can... its super easy to get too and is a strait shot to the finish with it.

Escort:
I found the escort one to be the most frustrating.

the first thing i wanna say about this one is to use a medium body type. the baddies scale with your body type. did one with a light and fought a couple meds. got killed a bunch and went to heave and it got ugly.

that being said this one is fairly easy. until you repair the bot you have free reign of the level but your clock will be ticking down as soon as you cross that green glow. I played an engineer for all the challenges and i just went and placed a turret with a nice long line of site on hallway. the turret distracted them all long enough for me to kill them. i just stayed behind the bot and shot em as they came out and kept repairing the bot.

they stop spawning in doors youve already passed so you dont have to watch your back. this one took a few tries but i finally got it when i stopped capping the terminal. the guys WILL kill you and then take it back you waste ALOT of time as it is running back to your bot you dont wanna spend another 10-15 seconds capping a computer your gonna lose in a minute anyway.

Tower:
Tower defence was pretty easy. had a little bit of trouble with the very last wave but i eventually got it. theres 2 ledges you can reach on either side of the arena i set my turret up on the one NOT under the big tv that counts your waves. its easier to get too and provides your turret with a bit more cover from the ground as theres a bridge in the way. then i just stayed by the computer with a mine planted just off the left corner of the terminal. the guys dont usually rush and once they get to the top they arent too aggressive. play ring around the terminal with them and gun them down as you do.

the guns i used for all of it were

Euston
- 4 barrel port
- red dot sites
- barrel mag
- fore grip

and

Kross SMG (this gun is beast imo)
- 2 barrel port
- barrel mag
- iron sites
- fore grip

sorry this thing carried on so long and i hope it helps...

Just a heads up, after working on this one for FOREVER, I tried a suggestion that didn't get a whole lot of recognition on these threads. I did the 1 * challenges very early, thinking "oh, harder challenges would likely benefit from being tackled by a higher ranked character" this is dead wrong. The Be More Objective challenge is simplistic if done at an early rank, and almost downright impossible at higher ranks. If you find yourself stuck, create a new character and just do the 1 and 2 * Be More Objective challenges. Both are capable of being completed in the first go with no frustration, hair pulling, or controller throwing. Hope this helps.

Pure luck aka a good team but even with that you'll die 23132132103212132310982312 if someone made a video of not dying ONCE on all challenges with combat AI then i'd love to see that

Be More Objective 2 Star friggin' pisses me off. The enemy bots only focus on me, it feels like, and they really, really, REALLY INFURIATE ME.

I really want the Speed Slings. But I just can't frikkin' do it. I'll get to the Operative objective (with some difficulty) and then I'll just get completely shut out. Their Engineers kill my hackbox while I'm hacking, and my bots seem to refuse to kill them, so in the time it takes for me to switch from the PDA to the weapon and fill them with bullets, they will have destroyed the hackbox AND their team (which consists of several Heavies when I'm using a new character that as only done the first star version of the same challenge, mind you, so I call [censored] on that anyway) will promptly mow my ass down.

More than a little frustrating. I'd appreciate any advice, but I've looked up several walkthroughs and well, the Operative challenge is as far as I can get regardless of tactics.

Sorry for your difficulty, I honestly was at that same level of frustration, but once I made a new character and tried it at a base level I completed it in a single attempt.

Two-star challenges aren't really that bad, in my experience, except I couldn't even accomplish the first objective in the whole 10 minutes the first time I tried two-star Be More Objective. I don't know if they made it easier in the patch, or if it was that I switched to the Lobster for the first objective, or if I just got a whole lot better in my sleep, but it actually went fairly smoothly when I ran it today. One thing I think everyone can agree on is that it's key to rush the first objective and plant as soon as you can, because defending a planted charge is way easier than planting it in the first place.

Escort Duty: Not really that hard. Pick close-range weapons and maybe a heavy body type since you don't have to move too much. Take the Hjammerdeim shotgun and an assault rifle as a heavy, or the Mossington shotgun and an SMG as medium. Don't play as light on this one. Remember to buff your gun.

Tower Defense: I placed my mine at the base of the staircase behind the command post. I haven't figured out the best place to put a turret so it isn't useless, but probably on the lower level where it's only likely to be approached from one angle. Remember to buff your gun.

Parkour This: If you can't figure out how to get somewhere, climb as high as you can so you can see more of the level's geometry. Try to do the farther beacons as soon as you can, so that you'll be closer to spawn when you hit the last one.
