A Changing of Opinion

For the longest time, I have been on gamesas's side in this whole debacle. I have my own reasons for that, and just search my posts and you can read them. There is no need to rehash them.

However, recently I've learned the actual history of gamesas, and how Herve Caen has driven the company into the ground. Granted, gamesas wasn't in the best shape prior to Herve's takevoer, but he systematically killed off any hope of the company ever resurfacing. They were a major distributor, Herve killed it, they had their own studio, Black Isle, Herve killed it. During this time gamesas's original founder left, and many of the former Black Isle people went on to found Obsidian. So gamesas was left with no way to earn income other that to sell IPs. It seems to me that Herve was the worst thing that ever happened to gamesas, and now, no one who was originally involved with Fallout remains there. In my previous statements I was under the impression that there were some there, and given that there aren't, it presents some serious problems for me in regards to what kind of a MMO gamesas will produce. Since gamesas brought in Masthead, it seems that the design of the Fallout MMO would be mostly in their hands, with Herve and the boys just on for the ride.

Therefore, considering I'm not a fan of Bethesda's interpretation of the Fallout Universe, and that there now seems to be no company that understands what made the original Fallout games so awesome, I find my support wavering. The true successor seems to be Obsidian, but their only involvement seems to be with New Vegas, and considering they have Bethesda breathing down their necks, I doubt their real vision could shine through in any case.

What do the rest of you think?
