Character Artist seeking work

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:00 am

Hi all, not sure if self promotion is frowned upon here :-S For any modders or developers here, I just wanted to say I'm a 3D artist from London currently studying traditional art and looking for work - ideally character art but would also love the opportunity to work in any aspect of development art, e.g. environments, junior positions, etc. Currently looking for paid work rather than royalties, etc.

If you'd like to view some of my work, please do so at:

www. philipmehr.carbonmade .com (sorry for the spaces, can't post links :( )

Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon :)

You work is beautiful! It's probably rare someone here will pay you since mainly everyone working on big mods aren't doing this for pay or royalties, but it's possible due to the quality of your work. I hope you get what you are looking for. Thank you for sharing and stopping by.

I liked your 2d drawing of Machinist and some sculpting you've done. Which do you sculpt in, Mudbox and/or Zbrush?

You should move to the US and apply at Bethesda! I'd love to see your work in an ES game. Looks like you do some great stuff!

I'm pretty sure you can't ask for pay here on the Bethesda forums; the modding community here is based on free creations. However, if you upload resources to the Nexus, you're allowed to ask for donations that would allow you to continue modding for "free". You can't really force people to pay a donation, though.

Can you really set up donations? That's pretty cool of them to add.

To clarify: You can enable a donation link at the top of your Nexus page that Nexus generates for you, but you cannot actually ask for a donation. From the Profile Preferences page:

You should never, ever charge for access to any files, additional content or perks on the Nexus sites. This includes providing a file for free and then requiring users to donate to receive additional features, support or special perks. It is against the rules of this site to incentivise the donation system or ask users to donate to you for additional support or content.

YOU MAY NOT ASK FOR DONATIONS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM ON THE SITES, INCLUDING IN YOUR FILE DESCRIPTIONS.

Correct, Chesko. Sorry if there was any confusion about that.
