Character Idea - Maxwell's Silver Hammer

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:45 pm

Driving home I heard the song on the radio and decided that my next character would be based on it. I'm making him an Imperial so I can latinize the name.

Maccus Argentum Malleus unless latin has the adjective after the noun (I don't remember)

Skills:
Two handed Weapon (duh) He will use Iron, steel, or skyforge steel warhammer unless there is a silver hammer in the vanilla game
Sneak - creeps up from behind / a noise comes from behind
Alchemy and/or Restoration - Majoring in medicine
Speech - Calls her on the phone / Can I take you to the pictures Joan?

I am also thinking about:
Smithing - All the clang clang and bang bang

Archery, Block, and Heavy Armor for support. I know heavy armor isn't great for sneaking, but it will keep sneaking from becoming OP and Maxwell doesn't come off as stable. I don't plan on putting perks into all the skills, just level them up.

So he will join the companions and the DB. The companions to gain levels, the DB to sneak up behind targets and crush their skulls.

Constructive criticism please.

Got to go full speach... closest thing to a charisma talent. Also, has to kill bunnies... every bunny... and display their corpses in towns after night fall.

Never surrender to law enforcement, since there is no courtroom senario, guards are the closest you're going to get to judges.

How about making your character a Breton named Paullus 'the Silver Hammer' McCartney?

Looking it up I can't tell if Maxwell Edison is/was real or not. According to McCartney it isn't about a real serial killer. Some spurious sites state there was a Maxwell Edison who went to prison for 31 years (Liverpool) for a triple homicide involving a hammer (like a claw hammer).

The song got (is) stuck in my head (ear worm) so until I make him and play him it wil be.

@Mr. Moonlight - doubt he will, but it might be fun to break out and then kill all the guards in prison.

@Fractal Knight - has to be named something like Maxwell Silver Hammer.

@Shagsbeard - I like the full speech. At minimum I would get the bonuses for persuade and the one that helps vs. opposite six. Don't understand the bunny thing though.

If I'm feeling a little off, he could go running around killing Horkers and Chickens. "I am the Horker, I am the Egg Man..."

Unfortunately there is no Skyforge Steel warhammer in vanilla Skyrim. I was bummed when I found that out.

It is too bad they don't have one handed hammers in this game. That would go better with the build/theme you are describing than two handed hammers, both for the sneak attack bonus and for the image. I always pictured Maxwell with a one handed hammer.

Too bad none of the houses in the game are located on Abbey Road . . .

Serious bummer about no Skyforge Steel Hammers. Plain Steel it will be then. I agree about the lack of one handed hammers. Mace just isn't the same. If I could improve a pick I'd use it for a one hand weapon. Still it is fun to sneak up on someone and wipe them out with one hammer blow. The kill cam makes a neat "thud/thwak" sound. It is oddly satisfying.

@Angry Orc - I still can't get it out of my head. It's been three days.
