Is my character sick or what?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:20 pm

all the people, argonians, Khajiits, elves etc... Keep commenting about me being sick, not looking well or whatever.. They all just say that i must be sick because i either look pale or i need a rest...

And few times a potion seller or healer said that i must have ataxia or something like that...

I checked in the active effecrs sectiin to see if i have any deseases.. I found nothing.. I drank few potions to cure desease.. Still people keep saying that I'm sick.. What the heck is wrong with my charrie? It only happens on my main account.. On my second one.. Noone tells me stuff about me being sick or having ataxia or whatever its called...

So.. How do I get rid of these comments?
And if i do have some kind of a desease well then how do i cure it? Potion of curing desease doesnt work...

I would try an altar, but your cure disease potions and ingredients are doing the same thing.
The potion-selling woman in Arcadia's Cauldron (I think) will tell you you look sick even if you aren't. She's just trying to make a sale.
Maybe try going out and letting some wolves bite you till you catch something, verify it in active effects, and re-cure yourself?

Also, are you, or have you ever been a Werewolf? Were you perhaps diseased when you became one?

I always visit a temple and the comments stop.

However, the chica in the Alchemist's Shop in Whiterun ALWAYS says that, no matter what as far as I can tell.

By altar, I mean the various Divine shrines usually found in temples, have you tried to cure yourself using one of those?

And yeah the alchemists in Whiterun keep saying that to me too.
Actually nearly all of them say that i must be sick... :(
But I'm not.. Or maybe i am but it doesn't show because there must be some kind of a glitch in my game.. Hmmmmm
I think that's possible... Hmmmmmm

Yesterday. My charrie slept in one of the tents where the caravan Khajiits sleep...

I dont think sleeping is the case because after that i still get these comments from others...

You can usually get the alchemist in Whiterun to shut up after you make a delivery to her from Farengar (mage in Dragon's Reach, Whiterun).

This sounds like a bug. If you haven't figured the "altar" thing out: in the temples and sometimes just in the wild or in a building there are interactable structures/devices that will confer a blessing and cure your diseases. The benefits from the blessings vary from Divine to Divine.

If it is just Arcadia in Whiterun telling you that, she is just trying to sell you some potions. Are you sure that you have not contracted vampirism? It is such an insidious disease.

I was wondering about vampirism, but wouldn't using the potions have caught that as well?

its not just her... Its like nearly all the people who walk by me comment that I'm sick or look pale.

And how do i know if my charrie has the vampirism desease? I hope I dont have it. I heard lost of complains about it here on the forums.... If my charrie is infected by it then how do I cure it?

I'm not sure, if it's a bug.
Because the same thing is happening to me: People constantly tell me I look sick or 'sickly'.
I've tried to sleep, eat and so on, but they keep telling me that.

Open your spell menu. Select the "active effects" tab of it. Look closely at the currently active effects. You might need to scroll the list a bit, because it can grow quite long.

If there's anything in red, then you have a disease and you probably want to cure it by touching a shrine of the divines.

If it's just Arcadia who tells you that you need to buy one of her potions right now because she thinks that you have ataxia, then ignore her. She's just the living proof that alchemists aren't really "healers" in Skyrim, because she is either lying to make a sale or really lousy at diagnostics.

BUT: does being sick have any effects what so ever?
Like a weakening of some sort?

I've only caught Vampirism once and I went right to a shrine to get rid of it. If it's within 72 game hours you can cure it at a shrine or with a potion. If it's after 72 hours you'll have to talk to Falion in Morthal.

IDK how Vampirism shows up in your Active Effects list after the 72 hour 'gestation' period, but if you Sneak up to a person who is sleeping I'm assuming you'll get the option to "Feed" - then you'll know you have it.

If you do have it and it's after the 72 hour period: make sure you feed on a sleeping person every day or two because if you don't you'll get to Stage 4 and you don't want that. People will attack you on sight and it will make it very difficult to cure yourself.

Oh, yes. Various diseases have various deleterious effects:

I'm pretty sure I don't have Vampirism - she's been telling me that all my life. Actually I'll go for long periods of time where I don't hear it, and then when other townfolk start saying it, it's usually in clumps, which makes me think I've really got something, but when I check I don't.

I'm beginning to wonder if the guards and others are trying to get me to eat and sleep. My character never eats or sleeps...
