But, I would say that happiness comes from roleplaying a character who has his limits.
I will give one example of a character I have just started playing , and it is probably the best character I have made in all of rpg days, simply because I don't have the "system" telling me what to do. (This can be compared to Daggerfall days , where you would pick your weaknesses at the beginning of the game with different degrees of difficulty....weakness to { " *insert type* " } )
It's all about how you play TES games.....and it matters not which game we speak.
So here is my set up (not a specific build, but the descriptions will say it all):
Weaknesses and limitations:
1- Imperial *Hates his own kind, however*
2- Afraid and allergic of/to all types of magicka based skills (no alchemy, no enchantment, no magicka of any kind)
3- Only uses one weapon type specific to sub-type (Axes) / Must be wielded in the right hand (one-handed only)
4- Only travels during the daytime, and sleeps at night every in-game day cycle.
5- Does not use fast travel for purposes of "realism". Does use the carriage , however.
{For me it's not realistic , unless I have another form of travel, not just my legs, in order to fast travel}
6- Use the horse {I know......but, it's part of my rp build}
7- Has a broken left arm that has never reset itself correctly since birth, and is unable to wield anything beyond 10 pounds in it.
{Which means NO bows, NO shields.....nothing in the left hand...since it pinches nerves, and is very painfull.}
8- Clumsy at times and finds it difficult to concentrate (cannot sneak very well, therefore, cannot take any perks in the sneak tree, but can gain levels to 100)
9- Fascinated with werewolves, after an encounter with one almost took his arm off (you can see where this might go)
10- Likes to collect books and read (can gain in skills that are untrainable, but can never actually USE those skills.)
11- Unlucky in life (Master difficulty applied, since all his life he has had nothing but bad luck and HARD times.)
12- Cannot use smithing skill (since it requires both hands and arms to be of the necessary strength).
Advantages:
1- Imperial (Has always been lucky at finding lost coins and treasure)
2- Very interested in trading (All mercantile skills and all speech related perks/ skills are maxed)
3- Very agile with the right hand, since the left hand is also half paralyzed. (good at lockpicking , but not to the extent of perfection)
4- Charismatic (female followers adore him, but not male followers (jealous) ).
SO, JUST INTERESTED IN HOW SOME OF YOU MIGHT BE PLAYING YOUR ROLE-PLAYED /GIMPED-OUT CHARACTERS.
Please share.
