So, my boyfriend and I have been playing for a while and both of us have gotten into smithing. My Imperial(34) is already at 100, and his Nord(32) is at 94, but my weapons and armor are drastically stronger than his, regardless of how many potions or enchantments his character may be using. For instance, I have made many Daedric swords, the damage ratings on mine are around 92 after I improve the swords to legendary, but his is only 41 after he improves the same sword to legendary.

When he pointed this out to me at first, I told him to try and find a Blacksmith's draught potion AND as many enchanted items as he could find that would improve his blacksmithing. When he did that, the sword's damage rating went up to 44...

Can anyone think of another reason why this would be happening? Or am I forgetting something I might have done with or to my character to cause this?

The combat skill lvl and subsequent perks in the trees?

I checked the blacksmith perk and didn't find anything. Both of our one-handed are about the same (around 80), but he has a lot more perks than me in that area, so I doubt that's it.
