Cheat Codes

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:47 am

I have Fallout 3 on the PS3 and I bought it the first day it came out and to today I still haven't beaten it. I am cheat code type of guy(not good at shooter games), but I love the story of Fallout. I am going to buy the next fallout and any future fallout games, but can you help us out and give us God mode. For example, if you can go to the pause menu or pipboy and go to cheats, then you have to type in a cheat like tgm.I am not going to buy a new computer each year to be able to have smooth gameplay on the PC.

a)My PC is 4 years old, and was cheap at the time, and runs FO3 smoothly, and B)

The game has an easy difficulty for a reason. Very easy may as well be god mode. If you can't struggle through on very easy, on fallout 3, I don't know what to say to you.

True. I mean I've actually tried to die on easy on F3 and found it pretty hard (As long as I don't shoot myself anyway).
I don't see why the cheats would be needed.

Cheat codes dont have to be used to beat a game. They are fun to use.

To answer the OP: No cheats on Console versions. The PC however has "cheats" and mods.

I've honestly never considered god mode fun. I like challenge in my game. Running away from 10 tanks in a flying golf buggy in GTA was great fun. Not against cheats, just... god mode is so cheating it's not even funny.

edit: Well that's what you get for buying a HP Touch Smart and expecting it to play modern games. That's sort of like saying "360 games won't run on my original Xbox, therfore the platform svcks".

Ok then. Thats your opinion.

See i find cheats retarded anybody who uses cheats just isn't very good at the game.

So I could beat FO3 on very hard difficulty without using weapons, then I say "Hmm, I am going to use cheats for fun." Now I svck at the game?

He asked a simple question. Is it that hard to answer it?

I don't understand why cheat codes are not part of the console on FNV, GTA4 has it on a Cell Phone(We can use the Pipboy to access cheats)

Because GTA is meant to be more of a happy-go-lucky fun open world, wheras fallout is an RPG series. RPGs sort of lose character progrssion when you're 1-hit killing everything with unlimited ammunition and you can never take damage.

Ok then. Thats your opinion.

You are correct, it is :P

Then the cheat codes should be for the ones that need it like me, you don't need to activate them if you don't need it. I can't beat GTA4, unless I have the health cheat and no cops cheat. Same with FO.

If you hate cheats don't use them, If you need cheats then activate them. I don't understand why you hate the idea of cheat codes.

If it will ruin your game then don't activate the cheats. But I am going to use them when I need to get past a level so I can beat the game.

I beat the game once completely (all locations discovered on all DLC's). The second play through I got bored and started using cheats, which were pretty fun, like getting unlimited Ammo on a MIRV and then just wreaking havoc; or spawning supermutants in megaton, giving the town NPC's weapons and just sitting back and watching.

Yeah, bring back IDKFA and IDDQD.

Seriously though, could someone tell me what's so fun about cheating your way through? I don't remember it anymore.

If a game has cheat codes, I usually beat the game first, and then use them. Makes the game different.

Is it fun doing the same thing over and over?

Then what should we do to activate cheats codes. How about you need to beat the main quest first to unlock the cheat. Once you beat the game, you can activate god mode and go around killing everything for fun.

Is it not the same game still with you doing the same things all over, with or without cheats? Only difference being the cheat.

I remember having fun with Wolfenstein3D and Doom with cheats when they came out, but I can't understand anymore why it was supposed to be fun that way.

Same for console users as with PC people. If you don't like it don't do/use it.

Though in all fairness I think that consoles should have some kind of cheat function added.

The way you do things is different though, which makes all the difference.

I still fail to see anybody answer the OP other than me.

How about beating different quests unlocks different cheats. That sounds fair.

god mode can be fun for certain reasons such as having a boxing match with a super mutant.

You can do that without god mode.

And win.
