I figure there's gotta be at least a few people on the forums that listen to Chevelle. Anyway, their new cd "Hats off to the Bull", is releasing on the 6th of this month. I already have it myself, and I gotta say.. I'm extremely disappointed. Chevelle's a band where I feel that each one of their cd's just got better and better. Point number 1, I don't even listen to. It was just generic, sounded like everything else in it's time, nothing creative about it. But when Wonder What's Next came out, Chevelle found their sound, and it worked. I loved the album, I loved their style, and their uniqueness. This Type of Thinking continued that, another great album. Vena Sera, I thought was incredible. It was a step up from the other two (imo) and a change of direction for their sound. It went from their old dark-heavy rock style to a new stranger sounding faster style of music, full of energy. And then they released Sci-Fi Crimes, which I felt was a masterpiece. It became my second favorite album, beaten only by Breaking Benjamin's Saturate. Regardless, when I heard that they would be releasing a new album this month, I was very excited. Then I heard the single "Face to the Floor." While it's ok, it just seemed so repetitive. It was one of my least favorite songs of theirs I had heard. But I figured, hey the whole cd can't be that bad right?

Wow, I was wrong. This is (imo) absolutely their worst cd since point number 1. The songs just sound like a mess, they sound lazy as if no thought was put into them. Face to the Floor ended up being the best sounding song on the whole album. Just a major let down, and I'm really disappointed. I've heard a lot of people say that they love it because it sounds like their old stuff, but I don't agree with that at all, I don't think it sounds anything like their first few albums.

Anyway, I guess I'm just hoping to find a few more Chevelle fans on here, and I figured I'd see what other's thought about it.
