Circle follows me around..outside of it colours washed out

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 10:51 am

Hi

Not sure how to describe this so I've added some links to pictures to help.

Sometimes (and only sometimes) everything around me outside of a circle that follows me around looks washed out (as if the brightness were too high). Directly around me the colours look fine, as I move and objects come within the circle the washed out look disappears and they take on normal colouring. It's actually quite subtle but quite annoying,

At times I don't see the effect at all.

Tried disabling mods (of which I have very few - depth of field/fellout/and a camera mod). Updated drivers. Gone back to original (untweaked) ini files but it seems to make no difference. I also can't remember when it started so can't link it to anything specific.

I remember reading a post quite a while back (I think here) by a user with the same issue but can't find it foe the life of me now.

Anyone any ideas?

From what you described I would link it to one of the 3 mods you are using.
Strange that it seems to stay even when disabling them.

Try using the console command "cal" when it happens again.
If it is connected to HDR lightning it may help, but I'm no expert on this.

Thanks for the comments El Zoido.

I too thougth it may be mod related but the effect definately remains when disabling them all (just double checked to be sure).

Running the command you suggested had no effect but I then switched to bloom (you mentioned HDR so I thiought why not try) and loaded up the save in 'pic 1' and everything was washed out (i.e. there was no circle of ok colour - so kind of a step in the wrong direction).

Not sure if this info is of any help though?

What is weird is I don't get it all the time, it comes and goes.

Have you tried turning up the AF (anisotropic filtering) option through your graphics card?

This is not connected to some specific places?
Maybe it's an issue with the color filters Obsidian used at Forlorn Hope or the Dam.

I think what you are describing is the fog setting for the weather type. It has two settings that control where fog is rendered and it sounds like the near setting is very low. Probably a mod as I never saw any weather in the vanilla game with that problem.
