No cities, trees floating in mid-air, no bridges, ect... : V

I bought Skyrim and it started playing fine for a while. When I finally figured out how to get intoWinterhold, the whole town was missing. Just windows and doors floating in space. Most of them are reachable, but not all. Then , I tried to go to the Stormcloak city and it was the same thing, but couldn't reach any doors to do any quests. And it gets better, as I'm sort of stuck in the middle of the map. I'll walk along a road to get to one of the other cities and run into valleys where the trees are floating but can't get across, the game just freezes, sort of ( I can move but can't get anywhere ).

I love the game, but this is REALLY frustrating. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or should I get rid of the game and chalk it up to a bad experience?
