Hey everyone, I currently own breezehome, but whiterun is too laggy... What cities have the least amount of lag? Thanks

Whiterun is definitely the worst for me. Riften was pretty good for a while but has started chopping up a bit. Probably the best place in my game is Solitude, though the home there is pretty costly.

Windhelm used to lag loads for me a couple of days ago. Fast travelled there yesterday and it was buttery smooth (and since has stayed that way). Solitude can get a bit choppy at times.

Windhelm and Whitrun were the worst for me. This was only periodically and also varied depending on how long I had played, and also how much spastic activity i was trying to cram into a 5min window lol x.x

Windhelm is the least laggy for me. (BTW lag is a word used to describe delay not necessarily internet related)

But, at times it can be one of the worst.

The best to avoid lag IMO would be the home in Riften. Even though the city lags a bit, you can directly exit to the world through the second door of your home.

No lollylagging.

white run def. is laggy for me, but i got a weird fix; i have the clear sky shout, so i just hide in a corner where i don't get bothered by any guards (hopefully) and then use it.

even when it's sunny. 55% of time, seem to smooth it out. like I said, it's weird.

Hm, the most lag i get is in windhelm. Id say the least laggy place would be dawnstar or one of the villiages.

When it starts to lag, save and turn off your console. Then turn it back on, this will clear the cache. the do this: -Settings-Game Settings-PS Upscaler (OFF) PS Smoothing (OFF)

-Settings-System Settings-Display [What's New] (OFF) Notification Messages (DO NOT DISPLAY)

-Settings-Display Settings-Cross Color Reduction Filter (OFF) RGB Full Range (Limited) Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (OFF) Deep Color Output? (OFF). After that is done start game and turn off autosaves. Helps big time.

These settings are only activated when launching a backwards compatible PS1 or PS2 game so shouldn't make a difference.
-Settings-System Settings-Display [What's New] (OFF) Notification Messages (DO NOT DISPLAY)
This will probably make the biggest difference as it minimises network interference
-Settings-Display Settings-Cross Color Reduction Filter (OFF) RGB Full Range (Limited) Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (OFF) Deep Color Output? (OFF). After that is done start game and turn off autosaves. Helps big time.
If your RGB is set to limited then Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White should really be set to on, but If your RGB is set to full then Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White should be set to off. I find the latter to work well.

Dawnstar's the worst for me. And the water disappears every time I look at it.

I found that the water textures getting a flicker on was one of the indications that framerate was about to start struggling, a restart tended to correct the textures apart from the one in Whiterun which seems to be an ever present.

No lag in Morthal.

No anything in Morthal though, for that matter.

You do realize that PS Smoothing and Upscaler are ONLY for PS1 and 2 classics, when using an HDTV right? They have nothing to do with a regular game disc like Rimlag or any other non PS/PS2 game.

Turning off Display 'What's New' can actually help, but the difference is negligible, you'd be better off just disabling your network connection.

Not sure about your last suggestion, since I've never actually messed with that one.
