Civilians in gameplay

This would be great and add a whole new dimension to online game play. Brink would be setting multiple new standards for the gaming community. oh and just so everyone knows you can make multiple choices.

I thought escort missions (of civilians) and such were in the game,

Otherwise unless its a specific game type of some sort I think they shouldn't be in

i guess i wouldnt mind if a random person just ran into like a house or something when you approach him but they shouldnt shoot at you. if you kill the civilians there should be a penalty though

There are escort missions. There are also bots so I don't see the need for more AI characters running around.

I think it'd be nice to see it adding to the chaos.

In the Container City videos, at one point the commander said "Civilians on the battlefield!"

And in the trailer, it showed The Bug pushing a few people out of they way. Those could have been civilians.

I vote no. It's a war where EVERYONE on the ark has chosen sides. Every person occupying the ark is already fighting for one side. There wouldnt be any civilians.

Not everyone is fighting. There are only some people who are fighting. Like for instance, the refugees on the resistance's side are not fighting. The founders on the security's side are not fighting. I don't know where you got that from.

Actually in the container city gameplay you can hear one of the NPCs say "civilians on the battlefield"

Hmmm interesting. Well it could be an interesting element, but if they are going to be running around like idiots then I will disagree. If they are hostages like in CS:S then it could be a good objective to have :)

I think other people would get kinda angry if you have to deal with random AI istead of their main objective. It could ruin the whole mission.
However, I do like the idea of random gameplay aspects during a match. Imagine what would happen if some containers in container city would fall down and open new areas and close others.
