The clan ladders are all messed up again..
My clan (ECO) has completely gone amongst others , don't know whether there doing work or what ..

I just hope my clan doesn't disappear completely :stare:

Looks to me like all clans who registered in December and didn't play a match were removed from the list. (Which was all of them, since the only successfully held matches were on the Holiday ladder.) And I'm guessing that in Febuary, all clans from January who registered but didnt play a match will be removed.

Your clan is still there, just not on the list anymore it seems. They mentioned before that this would happen, and I guess that if you play a match on the main ladder, you will get put back on the list.

surely this can't be right ,, NWO won the NA ladder and won matches in the global but there clan is removed from the main ladder ...
Also there are clans in there ,one man bands that have also had no matches and some unavailable eg deleted clans..

Every clan that played a match is no longer on the global ladder.

How does this explain (ECO) being missing , we didn't actually play a match , we enetered the match lobbies but either no shows or problems with notifications.. so technically we havn't played..

Doesn't explain it, just correcting tango...it's more than just hibernation of inactive clans. Honestly who the hell knows what they're doing with the ladder/clan system. I really don't think they even know, and if they did it's not like they would tell us anything.

I know man ,, I don't think it'll ever be sorted ,as you probably know yourself the player base was starting to build again because of this clan ladder thing .I think now most have had enough of this and are plying elsewhere .
The other problem is the prehistoric system they must be using for the game hosting it was so bad they gave a "temporary" fix for it (small teams) but have never actually fixed it . The COD series and other hosted games out there can manage to match up players from pretty much anywhere but in Brink EURO can't play US without some sort of comedy connection..

Let me clarify...

If you played a match on the Holiday ladder that doesn't seem to count for whether you are "active" or not on the main ladder.

If you look at the clans left on the main ladder, they are all the ones that registered after 1/2/12 currently.... and it is deleting the ones at the bottom day by day. Tomorrow, it will probably just be the clans registered after 1/3/12.

My best guess is this: If your clan was created before 1/2/12 and has not played a match on the main ladder since then, then it has been removed....which was every clan. The only clans with recorded matches on the main ladder were the two developers clans. There were matches scheduled but that didn't get recorded, probably because they didn't get played....or just because of a glitch. The only matches recorded were on the Holiday ladder.

Now the problem is that I'm not sure how to challenge and get back on the ladder after you are removed. SD previously said that there will be an option to re-activate the clan once it is removed... but I'm not a leader, so I can't check to see if that option is there or not.

Nope I have checked and there is no option to reactivate,,

I'm already enjoying MAG again ,so if this doesn't get sorted Im off and i am pretty sure a lot of others will be ..
So it'll bye bye Brink and splash damage/Beth I certainly won't be purchasing any brink follow ups ,, Am I alone ?

I'm definitely getting Splash Damage's next project if it is in the Enemy Territory style. From the beginning, I saw this clan system as a beta test for their next game.

It does say in the Clan FAQ that you get your clan out of hibernation by challenging another clan.. so since we can't challenge from hibernation, I guess that is something that they overlooked. Maybe they will fix it, but probably not.

Ok dude ,,
you obviously have faith in them, and your opinion is valued
but however this is why developers/games have these problems nobody makes a stand and says right until we can trust in them we ain't going to line their pockets anymore with £35-£45 games..The only way to make a stand was not to buy new so the company isn't getting your dough its the used games shop making a little profit ,but that will soon be cornered with the introduction of online passes, we are all svckers when we keep following and hoping , they know "they will all buy it" and "don't take anything they say on these forums seriously" and "just get it released when we said although its broke we'll just patch it ,get it out".
My personal opinion is until people make a stand we will constantly be having our pants had down...

I wouldn't say I have faith in them. I guess I have faith that they will try their best, but I don't have any faith in the results, because they seem to be out of touch with the players. But as a fan of class-based, teamwork heavy, movement-based shooters, there aren't that many options. Even if their game fails in many areas, I will still stick with it because it is a small niche.

Even with all the issues, I still spent 300 hours or more in this game, and I enjoyed all of it. It they sold the game for 1000 dollars, then I would feel ripped off, but for the 100 or so dollars I spent on the PS3 and PC copies, I feel like I more than got my money's worth. I don't want to boycott one of the only developers that is making games for my niche genre. I want to encourage them to keep trying.

ok ,,

I do see where your coming from and there is other games that can fill that void for me ,, im happy at the mo with MAG and I suppose the next big one will be dust 514..but I do think brink's days are numbered and there will be faith lost by many others out there..

At the clan meeting that was called by WhiteV/lightningV there was discussion about the future of Brink clans. I love Brink, I have gotten more than my monies worth out of the game. But for a big multi player feature that was advertised and promised to be functioning 6months ago, to finally launch in such a sad dysfunctional state, it is just one more disappointment added to the rather large pile that we have been forced to deal with since launch. At the meeting I proposed what I feel is the only solution, it does involve taking a stand as a community. Boycotting buying their games is not the answer, it's an empty threat that accomplishes nothing.

I'm not about to get into what I said yet on here because there hasn't been the feedback yet from the attendees and it would require a unified effort. I may make a public post on our forum shortly, tango you could always ask VG as he was there.

Bottom line...I got my $'s worth out of the game...it's not looking likely that the clan system will be patched to a properly functioning state...I suggested how to completely side step all the clan system problems and get matches flowing hiccup free and take a stand...but it requires people make an effort and follow through, just not sure people want to do that.

Milly and I suggested the same thing in the summer when everyone was crying out for clan support and it didn't come. Unfortunately no one listened or was willing to make an effort back then, I'm hopeful it will happen this time but the realist in me says not very likely.
